Operational Hour Changes & Closures


Pool Area Closure 5/20 – 5/22

Due to the Tonawanda Titan’s Natalie Lewis Annual Swim Meet, the entire pool area will be closed from Friday, May 20 at 4:00 PM through Monday, May 23 at 6:30 AM.

Memorial Day

The Entire Facility will close at 12:00 PM.


NEW Gym Hours!

We are excited to announce that our gym hours will remain open from 1:00-3:00 PM Monday-Friday! Additionally, the Sauna and Steam Room will remain open weekdays from 1:00–3:00 PM. The Main Pool and Kiddie Pool will continue to operate with the current operational hours (remains closed from 1:00–3:00 PM during all weekdays).

Individualized Running Program

If you are new to the sport of running, training for an upcoming race, or just want specific running programming made just for you, try the Individualized Running Program! This brand new package has been created just for runners. Training options between 10 weeks to 16 weeks are available. Every week, an individualized running plan will be sent to the client for the duration of their selected package.

Fitness Classes

We have a new group fitness class schedule for May! All classes are first come first serve until capacity is reached. Classes may be registered for by day, rather than full sessions.


All HydroFit & GroupFit classes are included with the Premium Membership. All Basic Members or other general public patrons must pay the daily class fee of $10 per class.

Meet Our New Registered Dietitian Nutritionist!


We are very excited to announce that Katie Tomaschko, MS, RDN of Hint of Tabasco, LLC will be moving her location into the Aquatic & Fitness Center! Katie will operate all of her Nutrition Counseling sessions in her new office located in the AFC gym. 


Katie Tomaschko is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist from Buffalo, NY. She obtained her Bachelor & Master of Science Degrees in Nutrition & Dietetics from D'Youville College. Katie specializes in mindful eating and believes in a realistic and balanced approach to health & wellness. She is also training to become a Registered Yoga Teacher. In her spare time she enjoys exercising, rooting on the Buffalo Bills during football season, and playing with her Cavalier Danny.

The Town of Tonawanda will be hiring lifeguards for the 2022 Summer season very soon! Lifeguarding courses are offered year-round at the Aquatic & Fitness Center.  We had a significant amount of interest and added one last class before the Summer begins!

We offer tennis lessons starting at age 6 at Mang Park and Lincoln Park throughout the summer! Registration will open May 4.

Summer Camp


Jefferson Summer camp is full! It filled very quickly this year. If you are interested in sending your child to our camp, we encourage joining the waitlist; there is no fee to join the waitlist. If we are able to add more spots, or if cancellations come in, we will contact those on the waitlist (by phone call or email) in the order in which they joined, at which point registration and payment will be due.

Junior Golf

Membership


The cost to belong to the Senior Center is $17 for a resident and $25 for a non-resident. Memberships are good for a year from when it is paid. The cost to have the bulletin mailed to you is still $5 for the year.

Erie County Stay Fit Dining Nutrition Program


The Erie County Stay Fit Dining “Dine-In Program” is offered at the Town of Tonawanda Senior Center. The frozen meal program is still in place. Feel free to take part in both programs if you wish. You must be pre-registered. Call the Senior Center at 874-3266 for more information.

Transportation


Our transportation service is up and running. Doctor appointments take precedent, but we will try to fit grocery shopping, hair appointments, banking, etc. if there is room on a given day. If you are in need of transportation, you can reach the dispatcher at 875-1029 Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM.  

Free Activities


The Senior Center will offer Exercise on Mondays and Thursdays, Preventing Falls on Fridays and Bingo on various days at no charge to our members. No pre-registration is necessary. Call the Center for more information.

RSVP Class


 In conjunction with Erie County, the Town of Tonawanda Senior Center will be holding RSVP classes. These are one-session seminars, open to all senior citizens in Erie County and are free. Call the Senior Center at 874-3266 to register.


The Past, Present & Future of Bethlehem Steel - Friday, May 13 at 1:00 PM

Discussion of the history of the Bethlehem Steel property and the current cleanup and redevelopment of the program site. The instructor will be Stan Radon, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.  


Crystal Beach - Friday, June 3 at 1:00 PM

A slideshow collection of photographs and postcards from the park’s beginning in 1888 to its final year in 1989 will be presented. Rose Ann Hirsch, Amusement Park Historian & Carousel Restorer will be the presenter.  

Spring Swing Dance


Join us for a daytime dance at the Town of Tonawanda Senior Center on Friday, May 6 from 1:30 to 4:00 PM. Live entertainment will be National Trust. Cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members. Signup by May 2. Snacks and pop will be served.

Summer Fun


Let’s have some summer fun on Friday, June 17 at 1:30 at the Town of Tonawanda Senior Center! We will serve ice cream floats, cupcakes & popcorn. The entertainment will be the Hastings. Cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members. Signup is ongoing to June 10.
