Last Summer Bash


Featuring swimming, inflatables, food trucks, lawn games, face painting, and special guests!


Followed by a free outdoor showing of "Toy Story 4" at 9:00pm (open to the public) - bring your chairs/blankets!

Location: Aquatic & Fitness Center, 1 Pool Plaza (near the corner of Sheridan & Delaware)

Cost: Ages 4+: $7 per person with Access Card or $10 per person without; Children 3 and under free!

 

Tickets are limited! Get yours today at the AFC or YPR office!


Please note: Children under the age of 8 must be within arms reach of an adult at all times when in the pool.

Fall Youth Bowling


Join the Non-Competitive Youth Bowling League for two games of bowling with shoe rentals each week for 10 weeks, a special gift, and a pizza party on the last day!

Ages: Grades K-8

Dates: Wednesdays, September 15-November 17

Time: 4:15-5:45pm

Location: Classic Lanes on Military Rd

Cost: $60

Advance registration required, online or at the YPR office. You are responsible for your own transportation.

Ice Skating Lessons & Hockey Learn to Skate


Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Figure Skating, or Hockey

Cost: $55 for 5-class session

Socialization, Crafts, Sports, Games, Homework Help, Special Events & Much More!

We’re open on regular school days, 2:45-6:00pm. Get a part-time or full-time membership to come as often as you’d like. Memberships must be purchased in advance and are available on our website and at the YPR office.

Ages: 4-12 (up to & including 7th grade)

Cost: Vary by membership type; discounts for Access Card holders, sibling discounts available

Registration Process: Contact Ken-Ton Transportation Department regarding bussing, fill out Jefferson pre-registration form online, complete registration & payment online or at 299 Decatur Road—all steps must be completed in advance of your child’s first day

Fall Lesson Schedule

Swim Lessons


Our Fall swim lessons will return on Sunday, September 12! To register for swim lessons, a Swim Lesson Testing Verification & Registration Form or Swim Lesson Report Card must be presented at the front desk in order to register!! If participants did NOT take Summer 2021 lessons, participants MUST lesson test prior to registering for lessons for the 2021 Fall Session. 

Participants that took Summer 2021 lessons, can present their report card to register for the correct level in the Fall 2021 Session. Outdoor Pool Lesson report cards will be accepted.

 

Lesson testing will be available:

August 31-September 10 between the hours of 3:00pm—8:00pm TUESDAYS—FRIDAYS ONLY at the Aquatic & Fitness Center. Please arrive at the facility and inform the front desk you are in need of a lesson test. They will inform a pool staff member who will then assist you.

We're Hiring at the AFC!


We are looking for certified American Red Cross lifeguards to join our team. Preference to those available weekdays before 1:00pm. If you are interested in working as a lifeguard for the Town of Tonawanda, please contact Justin Moser, [email protected]


We are hiring for Fitness Room floor trainers! A background in Exercise Science, or a related field, is highly recommended. Substantial experience in the fitness field or having a personal training certification is also preferred. For more information on how to apply, please contact Justin Moser, [email protected]


Fitness Class Instructors Needed!!

We are looking for enthusiastic, certified, fitness-minded instructors to join our team! Preference to those available on weekends and evenings. Currently seeking instructors for: Yoga, Pilates, Dance, HIIT, or any other related classes. For more information please contact Justin Moser, [email protected]

$17 for residents or $25 for non-residents for an annual membership (good for one year from the date paid). The cost to have our bulletin mailed to you is $5 for the year.

Erie County Stay Fit Dining Nutrition Program


Our dine-in program has resumed and we are also continuing our frozen meal program. Feel free to take part in both programs if you wish. Visit our website or call us for the menu.

Transportation


If you are in need of transportation, especially for doctor appointments, please call the dispatcher at 875-1029 Monday-Friday, 8:30am-1:30pm and we will try to fit you onto our van schedule.

Free Activities


We are offering exercise on Mondays and Thursdays, Preventing Falls on Fridays, and Bingo on various days at no charge to our members. No pre-registration required. Call the Center for more information.

Card Groups


All of our card groups have resumed. Members only!

Hot Dog Roast


Join us for a good old-fashioned Hot Dog Roast on Friday, September 17 at 1pm. We will serve grilled hot dogs, baked beans, potato chips, pop and a dessert. Signup is ongoing to September 10. Cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members. The entertainment will be the Hastings Duo. Call the Senior Center for more info.

Flu Shots


Shots will be administered by the pharmacists from Rite Aid at the Town of Tonawanda Senor Center on Friday, October 15 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Call 874-3266 starting on September 1st to make an appointment. You will need to bring photo ID and your Medicare and/or health insurance card.

Fall Class Schedule


A new session of classes will be offered beginning the week of September 13. Signup is ongoing until September 10. You may pay in person at the Senior Center or mail in a check.
