PRESIDENT'S LETTER
My Fellow Members
As members of Berks County's best social and dining club, we have a lot to be thankful for as we head into a new year.
Ø During our annual meeting in September, we announced that for the first time in many years your Club was debt free. This allows us to begin a much-needed Capital Improvement Program to address improvements to the infrastructure.
Ø The fourth quarter of 2022 was the best for your club's business in its history. December marked a record month for regular business as well as private parties.
Ø The yearend membership drive resulted in the addition of 60 new members. We currently stand at just under the membership level of 1200 members. Once that level is reached, we will consider 1300 as the maximum number of members the club can hold without compromising service.
Ø The Capital Improvement Program, thanks to Board member Brad White, has progressed at a rapid pace. Major issues still to be addressed are replacement of the HVAC equipment, painting the remaining areas of the club house, repairing sidewalks and repairing, sealing and re-lining of the parking lot.
Ø Painted front of bar. Also painted baseboard in the lounge and in front of the stage.
Ø In late August we had our first Membership Appreciation Night in many years. We are in the process of planning a second night in ate spring.
The members of the YR Club are the number one priority of Club Manager Virginia Griffith and her staff. Any comments that you make to Virginia, her staff, or on the website are most welcome.
Thanks, and we'll see you at the club!
Nick Kuruc
