YW in the Community
We are excited to share with you the latest news and updates about the YW Hub facility, opportunities for partnerships and community involvement. Read below to learn more!
YW Hub facility
YW Calgary team members and clients continue to move into the YW Hub facility this month. Support Services team members moved in July and are busy learning the building and working through the quirks. YW programs, including Language and Employment, Child Development Services, some of Counselling and Personal Development and Outreach will move in August.

We can't wait to welcome the community into our new building when we open to the public on September 1, 2019.

Community Spaces at YW
YW's Communications and Community Relations team has been busy developing promotional plans and materials for the community spaces and looks forward to selling YW Fitness memberships starting in September.

The team is excited to welcome another Community Hub Coordinator this month who will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the spaces.

YW 101
Alberta has one of the highest rates of domestic abuse in Canada and the statistics continue to rise in Calgary. We also know that these figures only speak to the reported incidents of domestic abuse. You likely know a woman who has experienced some form of violence or abuse.

We need to come together as a community and see an end to domestic abuse - full stop. YW Calgary is calling women and men to rally their friends and families to participate in or donate to the 14 th annual YW WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® event. On Sunday, September 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., participating women, men and children will strut through Southcentre Mall in the shoes of their choice to raise funds that will provide services and support to women and their children who are fleeing family violence.

Together we can break the cycle of violence for women and their children. Safe communities and healthy families mean brighter futures for all.
