February News & Updates

February | Issue 8.0

Greetings Kim,

As we celebrate Black History Month and take this opportunity to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of Black trailblazers, we also acknowledge the ongoing work towards dismantling systemic barriers and promoting a more just and equitable future for all.

The strength of our community lies in the richness of our diversity and that's worth celebrating! In fact, our friends at Rhythm and Blues Cambridge have planned a series of events to recognize and celebrate this month. Check out their Instagram LinkTree for more information and details of how to register for any of the events.

As always, there is lots happening this month at YWCA Cambridge. Read on for a snapshot of what's happening and what's ahead.

Warmly,

Kim Decker

CEO, YWCA Cambridge

Update on YWCA Cambridge's work to establish a women's emergency shelter in Cambridge

Over the last number of months, YWCA Cambridge has been hard at work pushing for the establishment of a women's emergency shelter in Cambridge, where there is currently nowhere for a woman experiencing homelessness to go.

As our work on this front gains more attention, we've received more and more requests for information on where we are at in this process and how individuals can support our work.

Read an update on our work to date on our blog and learn how you can support this work.
