Do More This Week - Help a Family with Groceries

Weekends should be a time for rest and renewal but for families experiencing homelessness, they can be a time of uncertainty and hunger. At our Home-Life Management Center in Wilmington, we provide emergency shelter to 28 families, each with a unique story and immense courage.

Among them are a mother who fled violence after her home was destroyed, a single mother with an infant new to Delaware, and a two-parent family working hard to build a better future through job training. They share one common struggle – access to food over the weekend.

While we offer hot meals during the week, our commercial kitchen is unavailable on weekends, leaving families to rely on minimal cooking options. You can change that.

Your gift of $25 will provide grocery gift cards, helping families purchase pre-made food options over the weekend. Every donation helps bridge the gap, bringing hope and nourishment to those who need it most.

Give a gift during Do More 24 Delaware or mail grocery gifts cards directly to: YWCA Delaware, Development Department, 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 515, Wilmington, DE 19801.

Together, we can turn uncertainty into security and hunger into hope. Will you help a family this weekend?

Thank you for being a catalyst for change.

Save the Date for our annual Until Justice Just Is Challenge:

registration opens next week

Our Social Justice Challenge and Let’s Talk series is just around the corner beginning March 31st. The YWCA Until Justice Just Is challenge is a four-week program promoting social justice through daily activities on race, power, privilege, and leadership. Participants engage via an app and website, exploring injustice and taking action toward equity. The 2025 theme, Equity in Action: Exposing Myths and Redefining Justice, covers misinformation, interpersonal racism, the American Dream, and the racialization of crime.

International Women's Day, March 8th

is a reminder that progress is possible. Together, we remain committed to building a future where empowerment is not just an aspiration but a reality.

Locally, we're excited to share two partners who are supporting women and the ongoing work of the YW. We hope to see you at one (or both!) of these fun events.

Delaware Park Casino has partnered with YWCA Delaware as their chosen charity of the month. Throughout March, patrons have the opportunity to donate cash, gaming slips and ticket redemptions slips to support the YW.

They've also added a new brew to their tap in honor of International Women's Day. Stop by for a taste of "Equality For Ale" in March and feel good knowing a portion of every sale will be donated to YWCA Delaware.

Help us kick off this partnership during Happy Hour on March 5th from 4-6pm.

Women and Wine Wednesdays is celebrating International Women's Day with their Ultimate Girls Night Out and sharing a portion of the proceeds with YWCA.

Celebrate women's empowerment with inspiring talks, signature cocktails, and meaningful connections at The Dahlia.

Tickets for Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 4:00 pm are available:
