New Board President!


YWCA Central Massachusetts is pleased to announce the election of Monica Thomas-Bonnick to a two-year term as President of the agency’s Board of Directors. Monica is Vice President and Lending Officer at Webster Five and serves as the Executive Director/Treasurer of the Webster Five Foundation. She has served on the YWCA Board since 2019. Thomas-Bonnick will lead the 23-member board, which sets strategic direction and policy to guide the YWCA’s work in eliminating racism and empowering women.

Domestic Violence Bills

Women Empowerment Bills

ERA: Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.

Fight and get the Equal Rights Amendment into the Constitution. Take action.


#ReproductiveJustice Abortion Justice Act (AJA): The bill would protect patients, including providers, from criminalization; address systemic barriers to care; ensure abortion care is covered by insurance; and call for necessary federal investments in abortion care, including training, research, outreach, doula care, innovation, and access. Take action.


Child Care

Healthy Families Act: The HFA (S.1664/HR 3409) would create a national standard so that people at workplaces with 15 or more employees are able to earn up to seven, job-protected paid sick or safe days per year, and job-protected unpaid leave for workers in smaller settings. Learn more and take action


Child Tax Credit (CTC)

The CTC supports the basic needs of families with children – from food to utilities to childcare and more; this policy has proven to be one of the most effective ways to reduce poverty. Take Action

What's Happening at the YW

Girls CHOICE Program

This FREE program runs weekly for middle and high school girls in Worcester. Girls CHOICE provides a community of young women who support each other and fosters ongoing positive impacts.


Our goal is to create a network of strong, educated, and financially independent women who will inspire and uplift future generations

Transformations Program

Transformations is a FREE year-long rite of passage program for Black girls, ages 12-14 or in middle school. The program provides positive social, emotional, and cultural identity development that enables Black girls to:


• Thrive spiritually, mentally, and physically

• Recognize their gifts

• Understand that they are valued and

empowered

Girls Promoting Safety (GPS)

Girls Promoting Safety (GPS) is a strength based violence prevention education program. GPS meets once a week during

your enrichment period. We cover

topics including; communication skills,

assertiveness, conflict resolution, healthy

relationships, stress management,

and more, through games, activities,

discussions, and videos.

Worcester Fitness in the Parks is a FREE 4- week program presented by the City of Worcester Department of Health and Human Services and Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, in partnership with the YMCA of Central Massachusetts and YWCA Central Massachusetts.
