Wilmington, DE: YWCA Delaware today announced a $10,000 grant from the United Way of Delaware to enhance infectious diseases precautions at Home-Life Management Center, providing safe emergency housing to 85 individuals in 35 families.

In response to COVID-19, the United Way in partnership with the Delaware Community Foundation, Philanthropy Delaware, and the Delaware Alliance for Non-Profit Advancement is working to support non-profits that provide service to those in our community most in need. YWCA Delaware is one of those organizations.

“Not only will the services provided by this grant help families during the pandemic, it will help move them toward financial stability in the future.” said Stephanie Staats, YWCA Delaware CEO. “The United Way of Delaware and its partners are addressing disparities made all the more apparent by these unprecedented times.”

In addition to housing, the grant will allow families to participate in life skills workshops and family enrichment activities. It will also allow YWCA to deliver 300 hours of case management, provide 100 sets of bed linens and bath towels, and serve 10,260 meals to residents.
