NACHES – On Oct. 11, 2009, at 6 a.m., a massive landslide in the Nile Valley demolished a half-mile of State Route 410 and redirected the flow of the Naches River. This is one of the largest landslides in the recorded history of Washington forever changing the landscape of the Nile Valley.

Please join Yakima County officials, area cities, state and federal agencies and the Nile Valley community as we gather for a commemoration ceremony.

When:             10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11

Where:           Nile Road pull-off
From Yakima: Turn left on Nile Road from SR 410 and drive 0.70 of a mile. Signs will direct drivers to the parking area.
