It's a polar vortex...
Who asked for this cold? It's Snow Miser, isn't it? Thank goodness we have our quilts to burrow under! Last week, it was 40 degrees, and now the wind chills are in the negative double digits. Bundle up out there - no one needs frostbite!
With the calendar turning over to February, our minds turn to Valentine's Day! We've got a great fat quarter bundle at the shop (see under New Fabrics) to celebrate. Lots of reds, pinks, and hearts for you to play with.
Our Spring 2019 Mystery Quilt will be kicking off a little later this month - won't you join us? It's a fun way to spend your Saturday mornings. A little breakfast beforehand, a friendly gathering at the shop, and then you can continue on with your Saturday plans. The best part? You make a fabulous quilt, and make friends along the way. Spring Classes
Our full Spring 2019 class schedule is now online! Below is a new class beginning in February:
Jelly Roll Rug with Marty (Feb. 16). Marty taught this once last summer, but it's such a hit that she's teaching it again! Her sample (at right), which is hanging in the shop, is very popular with our customers.

Mystery Quilt 2019
Things are shaping up well, and the yardage for this spring's Mystery Quilt is available by clicking
here. You can sign up for the class by either clicking
here, or stopping in at the shop. The Spring 2019 Mystery starts on Saturday, February 23, at 9:15 and 10 a.m. Our only hint: if you like making Flying Geese units (lots of Flying Geese!), then this quilt will be perfect for you. It's going to be gorgeous!
For all you
Fall 2018 Mystery Quilters, the reunion will be held tomorrow morning, Saturday, Feb. 2 at 9:30 a.m. Bring your projects, finished or not, and we will take photos to be posted in our website gallery.

In our last issue, we told you we had yardage for this lovely spring line. We've also got charm packs and layer cakes now, so you can make any project you want! Those lovely blues and yellows look pretty good compared to that ice and snow piling up outside!  Hickory Road from Jo Morton by Moda Jo's got lots of fans - us included! Just arrived in the shop are charm packs from her new line. As you know, charms are perfect for making bags...is it time to start a new one today?  Monthly Bundles by Yankee Pride For almost a year now, we've been making specialty bundles of fat quarters each month. There are six fats in a bundle, and each month they have a theme. They're perfect for small projects, or as gifts for your quilting friends. And they're only available during that month. Our February bundle is a sweet one, isn't it? |

 From the author of the popular "Turning Twenty" books comes a new series: Turning Ten. This first pamphlet contains directions for three easy, striking quilts, using ten fabrics. We all have ten fabrics in our stash that go together, don't we? Here's a great way to use them!
Moda Blockheads was a hot ticket last year - several Moda designers took turns and put out a free new block pattern every week for 48 weeks. Their Facebook page alone had more than 20,000 members (including a few YP staff members!). This book,
Moda Blockheads
, takes all those blocks and puts them together in one spot, along with the settings that the designers used to finish their quilts. Some blocks are easy, and some are very challenging - they were all fun!
