Summer is coming...
It was downright warm here in Vermont this week! It's still raining almost every day, but we see the sun breaking through now and again - just enough to keep us going. Grass is growing, and flowers are blooming, and they tend to be our greatest inspiration when it comes to planning new projects. Who doesn't look out the window at all those bright colors, and dream of our next new quilt? Here at the shop, we've got new solids, Grunge, Hoffman 1895s, and Dimples coming in this month. They're our bunches of fabric flowers - brights, and lights, and everything in between. Need one or two more fabrics to start your new project? Stop and see us - we've got something in stock that will work perfectly!

Last reminder: if you're taking classes at the Vermont Quilt Festival this year and you need specific items for your classes, we may be able to order them for you. Just call, email, or stop in by June 12.

Bonus Classes
Since we all spend so much time outside during the summer, Yankee Pride does not run classes from June through August. This year, Vickie Hutchins, one of our instructors, would like to teach a few short classes in July, when it's hot outside, and our lower-level classroom is nice and cool.

Vickie will be offering  Chic Picnic (at left), which uses the Quick Curve Ruler, and Victoria Findlay Wolfe's Herringbone Pillow in mid-July. We'll have more details in our next newsletter!

Recent Fabric Arrivals

These are the highlights of recent arrivals:

We've had a bit of a lull recently at the shop, and didn't have much new fabric arriving. As you can see below, Judy met with our fabric reps last week, and there will be great new stuff arriving soon!

Michael is our Moda, Andover, and Makower rep, and Judy was very busy looking through all he had to offer. We spend a lot of time looking over her shoulder to see what she's ordering!

Joe represents Hoffman, RJR, Free Spirit, and Henry Glass, so there was lots to see there, too! Joe is showing her a new Hoffman panel in the photo.

YP Sherbet Rolls

Cindy's been busy making more rolls in preparation for the Vermont Quilt Festival - these are her latest. Don't they look yummy? Great for bags, throw-sized quilts, and jelly roll rugs, these come not from one manufacturer, but from our fabulous shop inventory of Balis and batik prints.

Splash by Kona and

Night from Kaffe Fassett

by Free Spirit

Don't these look fabulous together? "Splash", Kona's Color of the Year, finally arrived, and we thought it complemented these new 20-piece 6-inch rolls from Kaffe perfectly! We totally want to make something with this fabric combination!

Notions, News, and Other Interesting Stuff

Our notions sales rep visited recently, too, and Marti chose some great books for the shop! For Kaffe fans, check out Kaffe Fassett's Quilts in America (at right). Pick up   Strip-Pieced Bargello  (below, left) if you've always wanted to try this technique, and for the modern quilt fans, or traditionalists wanting to take a dip into the modern wave, see The Quilter's Negative Space Handbook  (below, right). The gorgeous photography alone in these books is enough to jump-start your creativity.

Thank you, as always, for your business, and thank you for being our customer. We love that you still believe in shopping local!
