Blue skies, smiling at me...
Spring is inching its way to the Northeast. A little bit of sunshine, a touch of a warm breeze. We just want to head outdoors! It's that time - rake the leaves you left on the ground last fall, uncover your flower and vegetable gardens, spread some grass seed, and most importantly, change out those snow tires!
Spring at Yankee Pride means we're starting to think about the Vermont Quilt Festival. No, we don't vend there anymore, but so many of you stop in and see us during show week! Judy's busy making this year's advent calendars (already!), and the rest of us are pitching in - sewing bindings, making store samples for patterns, and cutting fat quarters. We seem to sell lots and lots of fat quarters at the end of June. Stop in and see what's new at the shop. Each of us are working on different things, both to prepare for the show, and in our personal sewing. We're as eager to share our sewing successes with you as you are to share yours with us. Start a conversation, and trade some ideas - we never know what we might learn!
We offer our condolences to the family, friends, and fans of internationally known quilter Gwen Marston, who passed away April 18. Her style ranged from the very traditional, early in her career, to the more "liberated" in her later years. She was never afraid to quilt "outside the box", and she taught and inspired countless quilters worldwide.
