Christmas is coming!
It feels like it's speeding toward us - how did we get to the middle of December so quickly? Truthfully, with the early onslaught of snow, winter already seems to have gone on forever. Thank goodness we have colorful, beautiful fabrics to play with! To all who are working diligently on holiday gifts, we say Good Luck! To those who have finished their gifts already, we say Hooray! And to those who might not finish on time for this year, we say that you're starting early on next year's gifts - Hooray to you, too! Some of us here at the shop are sewing right along with all of you.

Need a quick, last-minute gift that's a sure winner? Stop in and pick up a Yankee Pride gift certificate - there's nothing better for a quilter than giving them free stuff in the quilt shop! We're open for our regular hours every day until Christmas Eve, when we will close at 3 p.m. You can also purchase a gift certificate online and print it out at home, by clicking here.

Cindy delivered the quilts we finished for Make A Difference Day to Laurie's House this week. Below are a few of the 17 that we gave them. Thank you all for your help and generosity! It is appreciated so much by us and by the staff and residents at Laurie's House.

Intro Classes
Our full Spring 2019 class schedule won't be out until early January, but Ruth is ready to go! She wants to give beginners a head start, so she has her Intro classes already set:

Introduction to Quilting begins January 29, 2019. It's a five-week class, and you'll learn all the basics to start you on your quilting journey. You'll make two projects, including the Rail Fence quilt (at right) and gain confidence in your sewing.

Machine Piecing is her follow-up class, beginning March 12. Here, you learn more techniques, and make enough blocks for a sampler quilt. This class meets five times over seven weeks, giving you a little more time to work on your project without feeling rushed.

Click on the links above to sign up for her classes online, or stop in at the shop. We hope to see you soon!

Hedgehogs continue to be very popular critters. These cuties arrived just this week, and the white print (center in photo) is already flying out the door! Who doesn't love cute little woodland animals?

Sunnyside Up

Here is another effort to keep the winter blues away - a lovely line that looks like spring! Make pretty bags, adorable dresses, sweet bonnets, and so much more starting with these prints.

Dandi Annie
by Moda

It appears, by the fabric we're getting at the shop, that the current floral trend is dandelions. This is the third dandelion print that's arrived in the last three weeks!  It does appear that designers are having fun with these pesky weeds! The focus print (left in photo) will make a gorgeous bag! We have a feeling that print won't last very long...

Amberley

by Moda

This is such a sweet line! From tiny rosebuds to gorgeous bloomed flowers, these are very traditional prints. Quilters love them, therefore the manufacturing companies keep making them. Imagine a little girl's dress, made from any of the prints here. It would be so cute!

X's and O's

by Northcott

The rich colors in these prints make them irresistible! They make you stop and look, and pick up, and buy. Any one of them will be a great border, accent, star point, pinwheel, flower, and more. If you want to draw attention to your project, include one (or all) of these!

Gradients II

by Moda

The fabrics in this line are stunning - every one of them. Bright splashes of color and unique designs make you really think about how you want to use them to make the most of their beauty. The florals (photo at right) would make incredible backings. The ombre prints (photos below) take a little more consideration. Do you use them as a large center? Do you cut them up and separate the colors? Do they come home with you and live on your shelf until inspiration strikes? So many choices!

Notions, News & Other Notes

Need a last-minute stocking stuffer, hostess gift, or something for a quilting friend? Check these out!

These blank cards, printed by Moda, are a Gingiber design based on the Merriment fabric line. You get four different designs in each box, and they don't even have to be used for Christmas!

Every quilter needs a little more organization. This cool new "tool" allows you to store several different types of notions in one small space! Use Your Nest to keep your favorite things near you when you sew. Now you won't have to constantly search for the things you use the most!
