One step forward, two steps back...
Apparently we were a bit optimistic in our last issue. While it is spring on the calendar, we are still getting snow and cold weather in some corners of Vermont. Mother's Day was not rainy here, but it was chilly. So the flowers and veggies you got over the weekend can't quite go in the ground yet. We wait...

We are moving forward in the shop, though. We straighten bolts, fill up fat quarter bins, create kits, and hang new store samples. At the moment, this year's holiday fabric is hidden away, but we'll be bringing it out onto the shop floor soon - hopefully all the snow will be a memory by then! Stop in and see what's new, whether it's fabric, books or notions. We're always trying to find new things for you to be excited about.

Please remember that if you're taking classes at the Vermont Quilt Festival this year and you need specific items for your classes, we may be able to order them for you. Just call, email, or stop in soon. We can often get them ahead of time, and then you can be ready for your class before it begins.

Regency Sussex
from Christopher Wilson Tate
by Moda

Look! Judy ordered some cheddar-y yellow for you! Truthfully, it's quite a pretty line, and those colors go well together. A combination of some of these prints would look really nice in a bag, wouldn't they?

Sonoma
from Laundry Basket Quilts
by Andover

Judy ordered these lovely neutrals in charm pack form, and we've been playing with them (in our heads) since they arrived. Make a wall hanging with these as scrappy backgrounds and a rich blue, red, green, or brown from your stash, and you've got a gorgeous new project at a pretty small price!

Garden of Dreams

by In The Beginning

We're seeing more digital prints arrive at the shop lately - they're easily recognizable by the depth of color and layers of print. This group from Jason Yenter is really stunning! They're rich, and elegant, and what can we make with them right now?!?! Someone in Cindy's class is making a Fiji Tote with it, and wow!

Notions, News, and Other Interesting Stuff

A few issues ago, we told you about the great magazines we've been getting from France: Quiltmania, Simply Moderne, and Simply Vintage. Maybe you were interested, but you thought they were a bit pricey to just try one out.  We'll let you in on a little secret: if these mags are still in the shop after about six months, we slash their original price! So stop in and pick one up - they're great fun to read, and there is some wonderful photography - at a great deal.

Thank you, as always, for your business, and thank you for being our customer. We love that you still believe in shopping local!
