The cold is on its way...
Over the past few days, we've seen some rain and wind, and the leaves are now all on the ground. We'll enjoy the crunch under our feet while we can - we all know what comes next.

It's a busy time at Yankee Pride - the Halloween Haunt is over, and now we're prepping for the holidays. We're getting more new fabric, books, and notions, so you have what you need to make anything you want to as the weather gets cold and we head inside. We're also planning classes for early 2020, so if you have some ideas - things you've always wanted to learn - please let us know. We might just plan a new class from your idea!

In addition, we're diving into the Block-of-the-Month craze, with two offerings starting in November. Information for Summer Moon and Christmas Figs is below. They're both gorgeous quilts, and you don't have to be an expert quilter to achieve them. Best of all, they're available to local quilters, and those of you who live far away, too!

Halloween Haunt Tour 2019
Thanks to all who participated in the Halloween Haunt last weekend. You were all having such a great time! We hope you enjoyed your visit to Yankee Pride, as well as to Sunny Laurel Sisters, A Quilter's Garden, and Stowe Fabric & Yarn. Congratulations to Rosa Smith from Colchester, the winner of our in-store raffle.

Yankee Pride Helping Hands 2019
A great big thank you goes out to all who came in to sew for this year's Make a Difference Day. We had a wonderful day, with both sewers and binders. We'll be taking 20 quilts to Laurie's House later this fall, and we also made progress on more tops, with the goal of finishing them for next year's donation. Thank you so much - with this project, we really do make a difference in our community.

Fall 2019 Classes
Our Fall 2019 class schedule is winding down through the month of November. Below you'll find information on the remaining classes. Clicking on the link for each class will take you to its class page, where you can find more information, or sign up online. You can also sign up by calling us at 802/872-9300, or by stopping in at the shop.

Wool Christmas Stocking with Wendy. She has made some gorgeous stockings, and will teach you how to make your own. Wool applique isn't difficult - it just takes a little time. Let Wendy show you her tips and tricks for making your project beautiful.

Chic Picnic with Vickie Hutchins. This one can be made with a layer cake! Vickie will guide you through the steps, and show you how to use the Quick Curve Ruler to create this fun quilt.

Block-of-the-Month with Yankee Pride
Block of the month projects are popular all over the world, and we've decided to get in on the fun. Marti and Deanna are your guides through the two projects we've chosen. Click on the links below for more information, but there is no website signup for these BOM programs - you'll have to call or stop in!

Summer Moon, from Moda designer Carrie Nelson, is a 12-month sampler quilt, featuring both 30s and contemporary fabrics to create a summery feel. It's a great project for learning new techniques, as you'll be making blocks in three different sizes.

Christmas Figs is from the designers at Fig Tree Quilts. Deanna has chosen red, green, and white fabrics to use, but this quilt does not have to be all about Christmas! This BOM is also a good project if you want to improve your technique. You'll be making classic quilt blocks one at a time, in no rush!

Recent Fabric Arrivals

These are the highlights of recent arrivals. Click on the photo for a closeup, and click here if you're interested in purchasing any of these fabrics by the yard on our website:

Fancy Feathers 3

by Robert Kaufman

Just when it's getting dull and gray outdoors, along come the gorgeous jewel tones and bright colors of batik fabric. Cindy cut three yards of the blue to take home (left in photo) while she was entering it onto the website! So, so beautiful!

Urban Farmhouse Gatherings

from Primitive Gatherings

by Moda

There is nothing dull about this line. The whites are clean and the grays are crisp. Both modern and traditional quilters will be finding uses for all of these prints!

Geo-Topia

by Henry Glass

Don't look if you've got a migraine, but everybody else, check these out! Color, and shape, and movement - it's all here. Pick your favorite, and pair it with a Grunge, or a solid. Make a bag, or a backpack. Use it as a border to bring all your colors together. Hmm...what else can we make? These are too yummy to pass up!

Painted Meadow

from Robin Pickens

by Moda

Oh my! That's the first thing people are saying when they come in the door and see this line. It's spring, on fabric. The large floral print (center in photo) is flying out the door - you can see why. Get some of each of this group, and plan a quilt to help you make it through the cold winter to come.

Grunge

by Moda

Yes, you know we carry Grunge, and have for some time now. We were really running low, so Judy placed an order with Michael, our Moda rep. The first half just arrived, as you can see. Lots of rich colors, and those almost-whites that we can never keep on the shelves for very long. It's a great time to come in and stock up - those bolts are brand-new!
