Just a few reminders & updates -

Annual Campaign - Thank you to everyone who supported the library through an Annual Fund donation. It is heartwarming to know that the library is such a special place to so many in our community. Our annual Yardarm - YPL Year in Review will be distributed in late July/early August (via Constant Contact with printed copies also available in the library). It will include a list of donors along with a summary of activities, events and library statistics over the past year.

Charge it! The library can now take credit card payments at the circulation desk for your annual appeal donation, a YPL cap or mug, book sale items, copies, faxes, etc. We also have a link on our website (or see link below) so you can charge contributions of support.

Curbside pick-up is available every day that we are open, and materials can be left out for after-hours pick-up if requested before the end of the day.

PROGRAMS and more!

Hydrangea Festival Garden Tours

Thank you to everyone who helped with the Hydrangea Festival on July 16th. A big thank you to local homeowners who opened up their gardens for the event - Sally Hockenbury, Rhonda and Steve Silverman, and Margaret and Stephen Wilson. Also, congratulations and our deep appreciation to Mary Smith and Melissa Wilson, YPL corporators, who chaired another successful event and raffle with enthusiasm and energy! And finally, thank you to the local businesses who supported the library through their donations - Cape Flats, Old Yarmouth Inn, Oliver's & Planck's, Peterson's Market and Royal II.

KIDS READ!

Summer Reading Program

In our backyard -

The summer seems so busy already, so we are playing it cool for summer reading.

From July 15th through August 25th, we will have our Story Fence in the backyard. Stop by to read the classic story, Peter's Chair by Ezra Jack Keats. It is an adorable story about many things including Peter's blue chair and is perfect for readers ages 6 to 10. There is an "I read Peter's Chair" certificate inside the library for you to take home.

Also in the backyard, come enjoy some time under the blue umbrella at the picnic table or in our little blue chairs for kiddos (we have a couple of Adirondacks for adults, too!). A supply of bubbles (in a blue bucket!) will be available on the picnic table!

In the Children's Room -

Select Wednesdays at 2 PM

Registration is required and space is limited. Please call the library to sign-up!

August 5th - Summer Seashore Fun!

Stop by to create a seashore picture or paint a scallop shell necklace. Art supplies provided, but feel free to bring anything you want to make your artwork extra special. Completed pictures will be displayed in the Children's Room.

A snack will be provided.

August 19th - Pups and Cups!

Come join the wonderful dogs from the Companion Animal Program for a fun afternoon. Listen to a short dog story, and bring your own summer reading book (or choose one from our selection) to read to the pups...all followed by Hoodsie Ice Cream Cups!

Planning Ahead & For the Record:

Book Donations (Year-round)

For our ongoing Under the Spiral Staircase Sale, we will accept only 2021-current books in good condition during regular open hours. Please bring donations (limit of 10 per visit, please) into the library; do not put them in the book drop. Thank you.
