Don't Miss the 2026 Central Coast Yarn Crawl

The Central Coast Yarn Crawl starts tomorrow, Friday March 6th! And it's going to be fabulous! The Totes are already available in each shop for $20!

There are 8 shops participating this year and a grand prize valued at $700! You will receive a free custom stitch marker at each shop just for showing up as well as another gift with a $10 purchase. The crawl is 3 days...Friday March 6 - 8 and each shop is open from 10AM - 5PM.

Grab a passport at the 1st shop you stop at and collect as many stamps as you desire. Then turn in your passport at the last shop you visit to be entered into one of the grand prize drawings! Each shop is also offering a daily raffle worth $200 for anyone who shows up!

Additionally, my shop has an hourly drawing from my "mystery skein/accessory basket" in addition to the daily end of day raffle drawing.

Ball & Skein is also hosting Heather Wiebe from Smirligans at the shop on Saturday March 7th showcasing her newest "Celebrate the Central Coast Colorways!" All Smirligans yarns will be discounted 15% OFF during the Saturday event...both in-shop and online.

One last reminder...Ball & Skein is delighted to provide a Free Fiber Library. The Fiber Library (aka Fibrary) is a great place for those of us who have a little “too much stash” to pass on yarn or other tools or patterns to others who may just be starting out.

Snugaboo - Your New Favorite Baby Yarn

This Sirdar Baby Blanket pattern from the 1990s was my go-to pattern in the early 2000's when everyone I knew was having babies and I could still get my hands on Sirdar Snowflake DK yarn.

I stopped making the blanket when the yarn was discontinued. But I was so excited to see that Jody Long launched Snugaboo this spring. It feels like the same yarn and worked up perfectly in this blanket that I hadn't knit for ~20 years.

For my blanket, I used 1 ball of 4 different colors (Quack, Bath Time, Rock-a-Bye & Princess)...and I still have enough yarn left to make another blanket! If you buy the yarn, I'm happy to include the pattern as my gift...just add a note!
