It's Graduation Season!
There is always much happening at Saint Anne School and these two weeks have been among the busiest weeks. Last week we forgot to put in the Sports Awards and Mr. Rick Herron presenting the Carson Scholarships to two of our students. We included these two events this week.

This week was all about the Graduation of our Eighth Graders and the distribution of special awards for GROWTH in Reading and Math. We also are saying Goodbye to Mrs. Helena Tran our Third Grade Teacher and Ms. Brittni Robinette.
GRADE EIGHT RETREAT AT MATER DEI
This past week our Eighth Graders attended a retreat at Mater Dei High School, led by the Campus Ministry Team and Rodrigo Gonzalez who is a recent graduate of Mater Dei and an alumni of Saint Anne School. They enjoyed the talks given by the student leaders, the team building activities, and the prayer shared as a group. We thank Ms. Kendra Hart and Ms. Helen Steves who prepared the
retreat team.
GRADUATION DINNER AND DANCE
Mr. Mark Merriman, the President of the Orange County Notre Dame Club, came to the Graduation Dinner to present to Fey Cante Perez a $250.00 scholarship to Mater Dei High School and a certificate. Fey has been an outstanding student during her nine years at Saint Anne, being active in sports, Student Council, and Academic Decathlon.
Subject and Honor Roll Awards were distributed before the dinner began. We are proud of the hard work that our graduates have put in to receive high grades.

After the awards were distributed, the Eighth Grade students were served a delicious dinner by the Seventh Graders and then the dancing began...
GRADUATION MASS
On Friday night families and graduates gathered for a special Mass celebrated by our pastor, Father Antonio with Deacon Michael assisting. We pray that our graduates will be blessed as they begin this next step on their journey to high school.
Graduates pose with Mrs. Marge Oulette and her Transitional Kindergarten students.
We congratulate not only our Eighth Graders who are moving onto high school, but especially their parents, who dedicated countless hours with them helping with homework, bringing them to and from school and games, coming to award ceremonies and birthday celebrations, and sacrificing their finances to afford a Catholic education at Saint Anne School. You deserve a diploma even more so than your children! Thank you for entrusting your children
to our school.
MR. RICK HERRON PRESENTS
CARSON SCHOLARSHIP CERTIFICATES
Mr. Rick Herron has been donating $1,000 each year to the Carson Foundation which awards scholarship money to Middle and High School students around the United States. This money has been designated to Saint Anne School each year so that we can choose one student who has a 3.75 grade point average and has shown outstanding citizenship and service in the school and local community. This award can be renewed if a student continues to fulfill those requirements.

This year the Carson Scholarship went to Delilah in Grade 6 and was renewed for Edelyne also in Grade 6. We are very grateful for this help to our deserving students from
Mr. Herron!
SPORTS AWARDS
The Annual Sports Award Assembly was held last week. During the assembly each coach presented awards to the teams they had coached. We thank all those who helped with the Sports Programs, all of them making it to the Playoffs.

Special awards were given to students who excelled during the season: Most Valuable, Most Improved, and the Coaches Award. Special recognition was given to Mrs. Price who is our Athletic Director.
MR. O'NEILL RECEIVES BASEBALL
BAT SIGNED BY MIKE TROUT
During the morning assembly on Tuesday, Sr. Teresa surprised Mr. O'Neill with a Mike Trout baseball bat that had been purchased at our Dinner/Dance in March. Mr. O'Neill had been bidding on the bat until it reached over $900 and then knew this price was out of his league... The bat was delivered to Sr. Teresa the previous week by the person who bought the bat with the instructions to make sure Mr. O'Neill received it and acknowledged for the over 30 years he has dedicated his life to Saint Anne School. Mr. O'Neill was very moved by this gesture of kindness to him.
TEACHERS RECEIVE NEW SPORTS
EQUIPMENT FOR NEXT YEAR
On Tuesday morning sports equipment was given to each teacher for next year. Mrs. Price and Student Council raised the money through various bake sales and pizza sales, along with the Parish Festival so that each year we can have new jump ropes, balls, and other play equipment for recess times. We thank Mrs. Price, Mrs. Gonzalez, and the students who worked so hard to provide for our students.

WE SAY GOODBYE TO
MRS. TRAN AND MS. BRITTNI
We are sad to see Mrs. Tran, our Third Grade teacher, leave for another position in Garden Grove. We are happy, however, that she will be following her heart, to teach in a dual language (Vietnamese) school in Garden Grove. She is promising to come back to see us from time to time. We pray for her and wish her the best!
Ms. Brittni Robinette has been our Saint Joseph Worker for the last year. She has been a Teacher Aide for Grades One and Two. She will be moving back east to Pittsburgh this coming school year to attend college. We will miss her bright smile and pray and wish her well wherever she is.
BAND CONCERT
On Wednesday, our annual School Concert was held. Students had been practicing for several months and really showed their talent as they played various songs. We thank Mr. Fernando Martinez, the Band Director of Mater Dei, and those who worked directly with our students as their teachers: Ms. Whitman, Mr. Smith, Ms. Molina and Mr. Cilloniz.
