Dear First Congregational Church,
The members of First Congregational now and for the last 100 years have been ensuring the continued ministry of our historical church through generous gifts to our Endowments. Our Endowments are a blessing to our church as well as our service to the world. As the end of the year quickly approaches, we invite you to be a part of this legacy through a Give While You Live donation.
We have seven Endowment funds. You may designate the fund(s) you wish to support, or you may make your gift to the Endowment generally, and your donation will be used where it is most needed.
Endowments

Benevolence supports the congregation’s ministries of service, compassion, and social justice.

Capital Needs primarily funds the maintenance and management of our facilities.

MacKenzie Lectureship invites prominent guest speakers in theology and social concerns to visit us for a weekend of lectures and workshops.

Music provides funds for congregational, choral singing and instrumental music.

McMane Arts provides opportunities at the intersection of creativity and spirituality.

Sawyer Organ supports an annual organ concert and the maintenance of our Sanctuary and Chapel organs.

Voss Camp Fund is a scholarship fund to help families cover the cost of sending their children to church camps and retreats.
Some people elect to give their year-end gift to New Initiatives Fund which supports new ideas and pilot programs of the church. This is not an Endowment because any amount of this fund may be used at any time, but the balance of the fund is invested.

It is not the size of the gift that counts, but the spirit of it. Your gift, for instance, might be a symbol of your gratitude for the church during the difficult times in your life. Or, in honor of someone who has touched your life recently.
Of course, if you prefer to wait, consider including a gift to the Endowments in your will or estate plan, or creating a memorial gift to the Endowments for a loved one.
