Every dollar matters.

Every act of compassion creates a ripple of healing.

The holidays are a time for joy and connection, but they can also bring stress, loneliness, and emotional challenges. At JFS, we’re here to help you and your family navigate this season with care and support through the Bennett Center for Behavioral Health.

Staying active helps protect your mental health. JFS Clinician Mitchell Cole, LAMHC, recommends exercising at least three times a week—brisk walking, hiking, or bike riding. Whenever possible, do it outdoors, and don’t let weather be an excuse. Vigorous outdoor exercise helps manage anxiety and depression, clears the mind, and creates a soothing state of mind.

Thank you to all who joined us for Navigating the U.S. Healthcare System. In partnership with Fairfield University’s Egan School of Nursing and Health Sciences, we hosted an engaging discussion on how to access and manage healthcare.

Attendees learned practical tips -- from understanding where to go for care in Stamford, to navigating health insurance, to asking the right questions during office visits. The event left everyone feeling informed, confident, and empowered to take charge of their health. We are grateful to our partners and all who participated for making this event so impactful!

Help brighten the holidays for families in need!

A Story of Compassion and Support in a Time of Loss

When tragedy strikes, JFS is here to help. Recently, one of our young adult clients in Norwich faced the unexpected loss of his mother and had no resources to cover funeral arrangements. Learning of his loss and distress, our team acted quickly. They researched options and worked within the system to find funding opportunities to cover the cost of a proper burial. Rather than fall into despair, our young client was wrapped in compassionate care during this most challenging and life altering experience.

The client was deeply moved by the support he received. With tears in his eyes, he shared, “I truly didn’t know what I was going to do. I am forever grateful to JFS.”

We are grateful to have the opportunity to change the trajectory of lives through compassionate care for all life’s challenges.
