YEAR IN REVIEW

Architecture

2022 has been a successful year for the Architecture Department as they have completed projects for numerous new and existing residential and commercial clients. The design of the new Watertown Savings Bank Lending Center showcases our team's ability to incorporate multiple design elements into a unified corporate campus. This project will connect the 14,000 square-foot Lending Center to the main branch, with an elevated skybridge overlooking a beautiful courtyard. It is certainly a testament to our Architecture Department's expertise and the bank's continued investment in our community. This project is set to be completed in the year ahead. 



Construction Management

The Construction Management division celebrated the groundbreaking of a major expansion project at the ConnextCare healthcare facility in Pulaski. The existing parking lot was reconstructed, and a portion of the site was cleared to expand the parking area for 65 additional vehicles. Four of those spaces will accommodate electric cars with charging stations. Staff, as well as the community, will also benefit from a new outdoor meeting center, along with a 1,100 lineal-foot walking trail, to utilize the exterior of the property and promote health and wellness in the community. The 800 square-foot free-standing clinical space will serve as an infectious disease clinic allowing ConnextCare to better care for their patients. An outdoor covered testing center is also included to prevent cross contamination within other areas of the building. It has been a pleasure watching this project progress and we are looking forward to seeing it come to fruition.



Engineering

The Engineering Department has partnered with a number of municipalities over the course of this year including the Village of Lowville, Town of Adams, Town of Philadelphia, and the City of Watertown. They also are continuing to work on a substantial project with the Town of Henderson, with the objective of providing a new sanitary sewer system to over 380 residents and commercial users in the Hamlet of Henderson, along Henderson Harbor, and adjacent areas. GYMO assisted the town in securing over $14 million in grants for this much needed project. Construction is set to begin in the coming year. 

The Survey Department has been busy collecting survey data and drone imagery to assist the GYMO Engineering and Architecture Departments with their design work, along with various boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys for commercial and residential purposes. One of the notable large survey projects completed this year was the Little Bow Road Solar Project in Gouverneur. The survey department has worked on this 160-acre site since 2020. A variety of surveys have been completed, including a boundary survey, full ALTA/NSPS land title survey, and topographic survey. Most recently, the survey department conducted an as-built update to the ALTA/NSPS survey. The installed solar arrays, electrical equipment and accessory items were located and mapped to certify construction completion.
