In January... We kicked off the year by providing a screening day in for uninsured women at Casa Chirilagua with Nueva Vida.  In 2019, NBCF was able to assist more than twice the number of women and families we helped in 2018. Our top priority in 2020 is to provide more screenings, genetic testing and treatments to those who need our help.

In February... Dr. Weintritt joined our friends at ALX Community for a TALX on Breast Cancer. Our friend Holly Bertone with Pink Fortitude hosted her annual Peace, Love and Chocolate Fundraiser to benefit NBCF. SAVE THE DATE for the 2020 Peace, Love and Chocolate event: February 8, 2020.

In April... We participated in Spring2ACTion and celebrated with our friends at AR Workshop. SAVE THE DATE for the 2020 Spring2ACTION 24-hours of online giving event: April 29, 2020. NBCF has been overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received from our community. We are so pleased that we have been able to give back directly to those in need right here in our own backyard.

In May... We held our 4th Annual Swing to Bust Cancer Golf Tournament Fundraiser. SAVE THE DATE for the 2020 Swing to Bust Cancer Golf Tournament: May 18, 2020. We celebrated with our friends at We Will Survive Cancer as Dr. Weintritt was the Keynote Speaker and Maimah Karmo of Tigerlily was honored at the 10th Anniversary of their Celebration of Life Gala.

DC Wheels hosted Skate To Bust Cancer and raised over $5000 for NBCF by skateboarding 45 miles in one day!

In June, July and August... The Walk to Bust Cancer volunteer committee was already hard at work planning the 4th annual Walk at Fort Hunt Park for October! Thanks to sponsors and supporters like Mount Vernon Physical Therapy, the Walk continues to grow! Dr. Weintritt traveled to India as the guest of several major cancer centers including the major teaching hospital in Delhi. He performed live surgery while educating surgeons throughout India on techniques to improve the accuracy of breast cancer surgery as well as reducing complication rates and streamlining care for a country with a very diverse healthcare system and over 1 billion lives.

In October... We held the 4th Annual Walk to Bust Cancer. Thanks to you, we far surpassed our fundraising goal and raised over $106,000. SAVE THE DATE for the 2020 Walk to Bust Cancer: October 25, 2020

In November... We hosted "Conversation and Caring" with Tigerlily Foundation and Myriad Genetics to honor patients and their caregivers.

In December... Executive Director Martha Carucci attended the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium and participated in an event with Tigerlily Foundation focusing on Disparates Among Minorities with Metastatic Breast Cancer. NBCF proudly walked in the Campagna Center's Scottish Walk. We are grateful to participate in this event every year and love seeing our survivors proudly wear their sashes! And, thanks to you, we were honored to be chosen as the featured non-profit in the latest volume of the Alexandria Scout Guide . Thank you Alexandria for your vote of confidence in us. Thanks to YOU, we are helping more women and families in our community. Thanks to YOU, we continue to grow and have a greater impact.
