IPAL Presents "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas"
NEW IBERIA, La. – The Iberia Performing Arts League is proud to announce the opening of the award winning musical, "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas."

This hootenanny of a musical is based on the legendary “Chicken Ranch,” supposedly one of the oldest continuously running brothels in the state of Texas, and is sure to bring a slice of country pie to Acadiana this spring.

Come meet Miss Mona and witness her fight with a Watchdog reporter to keep her important corner of the community open all hours “servicing” politicians, football teams and everyday farmers. Watch as the sparks fly in a media frenzy and enjoy this hilarious classic where, as Miss Mona says, “We’ve got lots of good will, and maybe one small thrill, but there’s nothing dirty goin’ on!”

The show is for mature audiences and will open on March 2, 2018 and continue through March 18 at the historic Essanee Theatre (126 Iberia St.) in downtown New Iberia. The performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.

Reserved seating tickets are $20 and may be purchased at Delaune’s Pharmacy, Paul’s Flower Shop and the Daily Iberian office, through Eventbrite.com, by calling (337) 364-6114 and leaving a message, or at the door.

Supported in part by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Acadiana Center for the Performing Arts.
