A message from your Chamber
It is time for us to start thinking about next year's visitor guide and Chamber directory and I need your help. Last year's was fun with its funky Good Life chicken cover and its 20 Fun Things To Do in Taylor but I want to have something a little different this year.
    The VG/CD has several purposes:
  • It lists our Chamber members, helping locals find the best people to do business with.
  • It is THE item that we send out to travel centers around the area and around the state to lure them to Taylor.
  • It serves as one of the best pieces of information for new comers and visitors to our area.
Right now, I am thinking about 25 Fun Facts about Taylor. I like lists because people can scan and read them quickly and I think I could adapt this one to meet the needs of this varied audience. As an added bonus, I hope it might give local residents a fun reason to pick it up and keep it around the house for their out-of-town guests.
Do you know some fun facts that I might include? If you do, please email them to me at president@taylorchamber.org with the subject line "Fun Fact."

Get ready with Booth Boot Camp
The Expo is an amazing way to promote your business but there are tips and tricks to making the most of it. On Monday, July 29, you have TWO opportunities to learn the fundamentals of making the Expo -- and, heck, any other trade show you might want to attend -- stir up business for YOUR business.
Join us at noon* or at 6 p.m. at Sirloin Stockade to get the best information around. We have packets so we'd like to be prepared and the only way we can is to ask you to register. To do that, just send us an email to this address and let us know which time you prefer. (*Meals, if desired, should be purchased at the door).
It's a great way to get in shape before Sept. 14's big event!

Red Cross needs local volunteers
We had the great pleasure of hearing from Matthew Bisacca, volunteer specialist with the American Red Cross at Monday's Chamber luncheon. He was joined by  Izadora Martinez, Disaster Program Specialist, and Volunteer Lo'Toya Kelly.
We learned that Lo'Toya is the ONLY person who has signed up to help Taylor area residents who are displaced by fire or flood. From New Orleans, Lo'Toya shared with us her own story and about the need for local volunteers.
If you are interested and willing, to help the ARC in its efforts to care for local families in their times of need, please reach out to Izadora at izadora.martinez2@redcross.org.

 Customer Service of the Month

Vanessa Flores with Walmart received June's Customer Service of the Month Award from the Chamber Ambassadors. Her nomination letter said she  helped a customer in a department with which she was not familiar. Treating her customer with the utmost respect, Vanessa helped them find and learn to use the device they were looking for.  Have YOU had outstanding customer service recently? Let us know with an email to info@taylorchamber.org with the subject line "Customer Service."
