Opportunity through Education

Kiwimbi Presents:
 Twisted Treks Adventure 2017
On Sunday, May 7th, with a beautiful Sunset Mountain in the backdrop, come join us in our Twisted Treks hike and yoga. We are looking for philanthropic community members seeking an adventure and wanting to make a difference for our children in Kenya.

WHERE: Stokes State Forest
WHEN: May 7, 2017 (2:00pm-6:00pm)

The suggested donation for this experience is $50. All of the proceeds will be used to fund our lunch program, where we provide a daily lunch to nearly 200 students. Food, which may not be available as much to some of the children and their families, is essential to their growth, development, and progress in school. Kiwimbi Lunch Program

Kiwimbi is focused on creating opportunit y through education. One technique we use to accomplish this is our lunch progr am. In disadvantaged areas of sub-Saharan Africa, children face the harsh issue of learning on an empty stomach. In rural Kenya, kids may  walk home at lunch for a meal that isn't guarant eed to be there - while a t school they attempt to prepare for exams,  which will determi ne whether they will be able to continue their educati on to the next level or not.

So that students can focus on their academic work, Kiwimbi provides a daily lunch to nearly 200 Grade Eight students in three schools in Amagoro, Kenya.  By providing lunch in addition to educational resources in school and  at our Library, we give kids an opportunity to progress in school and expand their long-term possibilities beyond subsistence farming.   Now they can stay at school and use the time and energy saved to focus on learning!

It is easy to support Kiwimbi and the children!
