A Letter from our President
|
|
Shalom my friends:
As I write you today, my heart is filled with gratitude for all that Chicago Loop Synagogue has become.
It has survived Covid to remain a center for Jewish prayer, with morning services six days a week plus a Friday night Egalitarian minyan.
- It has helped us strengthen the connection to our faith by offering a weekly roundup of Jewish programming.
- It has created a genuine community with original classes, discussions and services every week.
- And it has been a magnet for ideas and countless people who want to see us succeed.
Chicago Loop Synagogue makes me a better person and a better Jew, and I think about this as Rosh Hashanah (September 6-8) and Yom Kippur (September 15-16) approach. This is a time of happiness for us, but it is also a time for reflection.
I’m asking you to reflect on what Chicago Loop Synagogue means to you.
- Maybe it means a place for you to pray.
- Maybe it means a place for you to say kaddish for your loved ones.
- Maybe it means a place for you to engage intellectually with our traditions.
- Maybe it means a place for you to find a Jewish home.
No matter what your answer, the truth is that Chicago Loop Synagogue means something to you. Somewhere, somehow, this synagogue has touched your soul, and we are part of what it means for you to be Jewish. Chicago Loop Synagogue is your place – a place where, when you are downtown, you can be a Jew.
And just like you would nurture anything that matters to you, the High Holidays are a time when we ask you to take care of your spiritual home. We need your help to continue providing prayer and programming not only for you, but also for everyone who will walk through our doors in the years to come. This is a significant shared responsibility, to make a meaningful gift today so we can help our fellow Jews tomorrow.
Please take this time to make your generous contribution to the Chicago Loop Synagogue by clicking here today!
Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.
Shana tova,
Lee Zoldan
President

Missing Something?
Our weekly eblast has become the go-to address for all things Jewish, but the number of programs we included was becoming unwieldy. As a result, we have split our newsletter into two parts:
- New events plus events that are happening this week, which are included in this eblast.
-
Events that are happening in the future and were previously announced. To see those events, click here.
