Heat Hotline
The City of Yonkers has issued a Heat Emergency Hotline for residents experiencing a heating issue in tenant-occupied residential buildings. Please call the hotline at 965-3331 to report a problem. |

Report Illegal Dumping
In an effort to curb dumping, Mayor Spano has launched a new anti-dumping campaign including a new hotline, 377-DUMP, for residents to report dumping in their neighborhood. In addition, the city is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to a conviction and has doubled fines for anyone caught dumping. If you see or have any information regarding illegal dumping in Yonkers please call the hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |

In honor of Women's History Month, Mayor Mike Spano paid tribute to five Yonkers residents, honoring them for their selflessness, volunteerism and work to improve the quality of life in Yonkers.
On Tuesday, Mayor Spano presented Helen Henkel, Marla Hurban, Maria Neto, Carrie Pataky and Diane L. Santavicca with the first-ever City of Yonkers Women of Distinction awards. "These women have demonstrated excellence, leadership and integrity within their community, serving as role models for successful women all across our nation," Mayor Spano said at the awards ceremony at City Hall. |
Mayor Spano Visits Casimir Pulaski School

Mayor Spano met with students in Mrs. Evans' first grade class at Casimir Pulaski School. During his visit, the mayor handed out coloring books and spoke on dreaming, believing and achieving. Mayor Spano answered questions from students and talked about the importance of public service and volunteerism.

City Makes Progress in Next Phase of River Daylighting
Mayor Spano announced that the City of Yonkers is one step closer toward completing the next phase of the Saw Mill River Daylighting project.
The mayor announced that the city acquired five of the six properties along New Main Street needed to daylight the next section of the river and construct a public park. The one remaining property will be acquired through imminent domain.
"This will be a multiyear process, but acquiring the properties is the essential first step. I want to thank our State Delegation for their continued partnership and support in moving this project forward," Mayor Spano said. |
