Session 2 begins July 9
Summer 2018 edition - July/August/September
Coco (PG) - July 21 - Hurless Barton Park
In preparation of the new Arts Center's opening in the summer of 2020, the City of Yorba Linda would like the public's input on the naming of the Arts Center by suggesting a name prior to the online survey closing on August 5. The Parks and Recreation Commission will take public testimony and review potential names at their August 16 meeting held at 6:30 p.m. at Yorba Linda City Hall (4845 Casa Loma Avenue). The new Arts Center will be located on Lakeview Avenue, across the street from the new Town Center project, and will be approximately 13,000 square feet, featuring a Black Box Theater, Dance Studio, Gallery Space, an Arts Studio, and will share outdoor seating throughout the landscaped paseo, which runs between the new Library and Arts Center. Take part in this exciting process and help name this new facility!
Help us shape the future of Yorba Linda's iconic Adventure Playground. This one-of-a-kind facility is aging and we are seeking input from residents on future site improvements and new program opportunities. Please join us to share your vision at the second public workshop on Thursday, July 26 at 6:30 PM at the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House. Additionally, please take a few moments to complete our online survey . All ages are welcome to participate in this exciting Master Plan process! To view more information, visit our website .

Although 100 percent preventable, drowning is the leading cause of death among children ages five and under and the second leading cause among children under fourteen. The most common reason children drown is a lapse in active adult supervision. Drowning is silent and can occur in as little as two inches of water and in as quickly as 20 seconds. Since drowning cases increase during the summer months, the City of Yorba Linda and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) urge parents and caretakers to remain vigilant when children are near water and encourage you to review and share the ABCs of Water Safety :
·     A is for Active Adult Supervision
·     B is for Barriers
·     C is for Classes
To learn more, view OCFA's Drowning Prevention video or download a printable copy of the ABCs of Water Safety . For additional safety information, please visit the City website
