Adventure Playground

Now Open

Adventure Playground is now open and ready to be explored! Bring the family and check out the newly renovated Adventure Playground.  

 

Due to sizeable attendance, reservations are now required for entry on the weekends. Residents can plan their trip up to two weeks in advance. Click here to reserve your spot!


Please note: Adventure Playground will be closed to the public from June 12 - June 16 in preparation for Summer Camp. Summer hours of operation begin June 19 with the site opening to the public at 5:00 p.m. to dusk Monday through Friday. Please refer to our website for hours of operation, schedule updates, and closures.

Kids' Community Swap Meet

June 3

Calling all shoppers! The Kids' Community Swap Meet will be open for business from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3 at the Yorba Linda Community Center (4501 Casa Loma Ave.) Entrance is free for shoppers! Bring your shopping bags, wagons, or carts and visit over 60 vendor booths to score great bargains on clothes, furniture, toys, books, games, sports equipment, electronics, and other gently used items while enjoying time spent with friends and family. 22nd Annual Celebration of the Arts & Music Festival

June 4

Bring the whole family and enjoy a full day of art, music, and food on Sunday, June 4, from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This free event, sponsored by the Yorba Linda Arts Alliance Foundation, is held annually at Hurless Barton Park (4601 Casa Loma Ave.) and will include local artists, live music performances, and a variety of vendors.

Spike Time Youth Volleyball

Begins June 5

Come join our fun-filled beginners' volleyball program! These newly formatted programs will focus on the fundamentals of passing, setting, and serving while emphasizing the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Spiketimers attending the Junior Clinic will meet for instructional clinics on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays to focus on skill development. Youth League Spiketimers will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays and compete in games on Saturdays. Family ART Experience

June 10

Family ART Experience is a series of workshops designed for families to engage in art experiences and exploration together. Each month will feature one art form such as acrylic painting, watercolor, ceramics, culinary art, jewelry making, chalk, and much more! Wine & Paint Nights

June 10

Enjoy a relaxing night out at the Cultural Arts Center for a wine and paint night! Attendees will receive step-by-step instructions on how to create their own masterpieces while enjoying light snacks and drinks. Ticket includes one complimentary glass of wine or beer with additional drinks available for purchase. Guests must be 21 or older; tickets are $50 per person.

Movies in the Park

June 17

The City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department presents Movies in the Park! Come join us at Hurless Barton Park (4601 Casa Loma Ave.) for our second Movie in the Park of 2023 featuring DC League of Super Pets. The movie will begin at dusk (approx. 7:45 p.m.) and be shown on a 20-foot inflatable screen for an AWESOME viewing experience! Don't forget to bring a blanket or a low lawn chair for seating. Swim Lessons

Mark your calendars, our summer youth swim lessons at Yorba Linda High School have returned! We have simplified our swim lesson registration to help you enroll your child for the appropriate swim level based on their age. America the Beautiful

at The Gallery

A new exhibit, America the Beautiful, will be on display at The Gallery at the Cultural Arts Center from June 19 through August 17. The exhibit features art inspired by American patriotism. Just in time for Independence Day, the exhibit will showcase American-themed art, including depictions of landmarks, historical events, and American symbols. Additionally, submissions for the gallery's next exhibit, Street smART, will be accepted on July 1. View more information on the City website.

Pickleball is back indoors! Join us this summer at the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House (4701 Casa Loma Ave) from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. for some fast paced pickleball action!

Meet new people, make new friends, and most importantly, have fun! The cost is $2 per person per day. We will supply everything you need, including balls, racquets, and six total courts. An Evening of Art and Music

June 24

Bring the whole family for an evening of appreciating the arts on Saturday, June 24 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. There will be tasty eats from food trucks, an art walk along the paseo featuring local artists, and live music by The Ron Kobayashi Trio from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on the event's lawn, all for your enjoyment! You won't want to miss this fun, free, family event happening at the Cultural Arts Center (4802 Lakeview Ave).

Senior Dance (55+)

June 25

Put on your dancing shoes, or boots rather, and scoot on down to the Community Center (4501 Casa Loma Ave.) on Sunday, June 25 from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. for a heel kickin' good time! Couples, singles, and groups are all welcome! Dance with friends, and enjoy light refreshments with good company. Tickets are $5 at the door, and no pre-registration is necessary. Doors open at 1:00 p.m. with refreshment service beginning at 1:30 p.m. This is one party you won't want to miss!

Kid's Sports Days

June 26

Put on your sneakers and join us as we play different sports in the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House Gym (4701 Casa Loma Ave.) We will play sports such as soccer, basketball, football, and more. Space is limited, so sign up early!

Ceramics Painting

Spend an afternoon at the Arts Studio painting a ceramic piece! Attendees can choose from a variety of pieces and all pieces will be glazed and fired after painting. Parents may drop off children or stay and participate. Parents may paint their own piece too, but must register and pay if they will be participating. $20 per person.

Tennis Lessons

Stay active this summer with tennis lessons instructed by Tennis Anyone! A variety of classes are available with options for the entire family! Classes are held at Las Palomas Tennis Courts on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and at Brush Canyon Tennis Courts on Fridays. TRAILS Program (60+)

The City of Yorba Linda, in partnership with the Orange County Transportation Authority and California Yellow Cab, provides a low-cost, door-to-door, wheelchair-accessible transportation program for Yorba Linda resident seniors aged 60 years and older. Rides are available 7 days a week, including holidays, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Riders must pre-register before scheduling trips. Teen Action Committee

The City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department is currently looking for enthusiastic and responsible 7th and 8th-grade middle school students to form the Teen Action Committee (T.A.C) for the 2023-2024 school year. Earn volunteer hours, learn new skills, and meet new friends.

July 4th Spectacular

Mark your calendars and get ready to celebrate Independence Day with us! Gather your family and friends to join the City of Yorba Linda as we light up the summer sky at our annual 4th of July Spectacular! One of Yorba Linda's most beloved traditions, the event will be held on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Veterans Park and Yorba Linda Middle School! Attendees will enjoy food vendors, a free kids' fun zone, family activities, a live band featuring Kayln & the New Frontier, and of course: fireworks! The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. and the fireworks show will begin at 9:00 p.m.

End your weekend on a high note! Pack a picnic basket and your dancing shoes and come down to Hurless Barton Park Amphitheater (4601 Casa Loma Avenue) from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. to enjoy some great music with family and friends. Three new bands will be introduced to Yorba Linda this summer, and they're all great! Seating is available on the grass, so please bring beach chairs and blankets. Veterans Recognition Program

Are you, or a member of your immediate household, a Veteran? Join the City of Yorba Linda and participate in this community program by proudly displaying your veteran flag or banner. The Veteran Recognition Program is designed to honor and recognize Veterans living in Yorba Linda. The Veteran banners are 18" x 48" and are designed to be displayed on residences by affixing the banner to the eaves of the structure, patio cover, or overhang. The flags are 3' x 5' and can be displayed using a traditional flagpole or a house-mounted flagpole. Each flag/banner will state "A Yorba Linda Veteran Lives Here" and will have the logo of the military branch in which the veteran served. Banners are $25, flags are $55. Events at the Virginia De Land Theater

The Virginia De Land Theater is the centerpiece of the Cultural Arts Center and the ideal location for productions and cultural arts events, including plays, recitals, concerts, and other performance art. Named for Yorba Linda Civic Light Opera founder Virginia De Land, the hyperflexible black box space features:



  • Retractable tiered seating for 164, with additional seating risers available to create customized configurations, including theater-in-the-round;
  • State-of-the-art sound and lighting system;
  • Ability to utilize lobby, green room, outdoor paseo, and other auxiliary spaces for performance days; and
  • Central location is adjacent to Yorba Linda Town Center and historic Main Street.
