Active and responsible high-school students who are interested in assisting the City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Maintenance Staff during the summer are encouraged to apply for the Youth Service Corps. This paid program ($12/hour) will provide hands-on training in the fields of parks and building maintenance, and will begin on June 17 and continue through the summer vacation schedule. Visit the 19th annual Celebration of the Arts Festival at Hurless Barton Park and the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House (4701 Casa Loma Avenue) hosted by the Yorba Linda Arts Alliance Foundation on Sunday, June 2 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.! The whole family can enjoy this afternoon of music, local artist vendor booths, food, and kid-friendly activities at this free festival!
This fun-filled beginners' volleyball league is designed for participants, ages 8-12, and focuses on the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Participants will meet for instructional sessions twice a week throughout this six-week program with Saturday morning games. All participants will also receive a Spike Time t-shirt! Pickleball is back this summer by popular demand! Join us on Wednesdays and Fridays (excluding 7/24) at the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House for some fast-paced Pickleball action! For $2.00, you can enjoy an afternoon of fun with your friends from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. and all equipment will be supplied by staff. Four sessions of youth swim lessons will be held at Yorba Linda High School this summer. Session 1 will begin on June 17. Youth Advanced Swim Programs will also be offered this summer! The Blue Swim Program will provide an introduction to Swim Team practice and drills. The Junior Guards Swim Program prepares students to become familiar with lifeguard water rescue techniques.
