The Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department will be working with Santa Claus this holiday season to deliver holiday wish lists! Letters must be received by December 13 for a timely delivery and response from Santa. Mailboxes are stationed at City Hall, the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House, Travis Ranch Activity Center, the Yorba Linda Community Center, and the Yorba Linda Library beginning November 4. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your letter.
Join the Yorba Linda Teen Action Committee in bringing joy to those in need this holiday season. We encourage you to bring a non-perishable, non-expired food item or unwrapped gift to any of our drop off locations (Black Gold Golf Club, Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House, Travis Ranch Activity Center, City Hall, and the Yorba Linda Community Center) from November 5-December 7. All items collected will be donated to the Yorba Linda Food for Families Program.
On November 8 at 10:15 a.m. Senior Services staff will host a Veterans Day reception at the Yorba Linda Community Center to honor those who have served in the United States military. Veterans and their families are welcome to enjoy lunch, entertainment, and a touching slideshow presentation featuring the veterans in attendance. Veterans may submit their photo, branch of service, and rank to the Yorba Linda Community Center front desk by Friday, November 1 to be included in the presentation. Tickets for the luncheon go on sale on October 29 at 9:00 a.m. and are $3.00 per person.

Teens (grades 6-12) looking to give back to the community can come together at the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House and create care packages for those children in need at Children’s Hospital Orange County and Operation Santa Claus through the Orange County Social Services Agency. Students can also bring their school community service forms to receive service credit. To donate items for the kits, please place new, unopened items in the donation bins located at the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House or the Yorba Linda Public Library through November 1, 2019. Donated items may include: craft supplies, toys, books, gift cards, and personal care items. All students who attend this event and bring in a new, unwrapped gift ($10 in value or more) will be entered in a raffle to win a $50 Amazon gift card.
