You are invited to take part in the Parks and Recreation Department's photo contest and share your love for Yorba Linda! Contestants are encouraged to submit photographs showcasing the beauty and character of Yorba Linda through its programs and natural settings by using our online entry form . Catch the wellness wave at this year's Wellness Expo, held at the Yorba Linda Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.! The event will feature 60+ exhibitor booths, free flu shots, medical screenings, medication take-back, informational seminars, healthy snack area, live demonstrations, and more! Bring copies of your monthly SoCalGas and Southern California Edison bills to the Energy Coalition booth and receive a free Energy Efficiency Starter Kit and enroll in income-qualified programs that will save you money and energy! Starter Kits will be handed out on a first come first serve basis and include three faucet aerators and a low-flow shower head to help you save energy and water. .
Event highlights include:

  • FREE flu shots provided on a first come, first served basis (ages 3+)
  • FREE medical screenings: cognitive health, blood pressure, heart rate, lung check, hearing, balance, carotid artery, spinal, dental, foot scan, and more!
  • FREE healthy cooking demonstrations, sponsored by Sprouts.

Almost 50 teens joined us on September 22 for the Teen Movie Night at the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House, which included dinner, fun games, and a showing of Avengers: Infinity War on our 20-foot movie screen! Join us for our next Teen Night Out event--Recreation Staff is excited to host a special Halloween Teen Excursion to Knott's Scary Farm, where teens and their friends can brave a variety of haunted mazes and exhibitions. Participants will meet at the Field House and will be transported to and from the event, while being chaperoned by Recreation Staff. Is your teen looking to give back to the community? Youth Empowerment Service Day will be held at the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House on November 17 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. where teens grades 6-12 can create care packages, cards, and paracord bracelets for our active military! Guest speaker Todd Frazier will also join us to deliver an inspirational message to empower and encourage those in attendance.

If you need a night to get some holiday shopping done, or just a night out on the town, look no further! Recreation Staff has a fun and exciting evening planned for kids, ages 6-12 that will include dinner, dessert, crafts, games, and a movie! For more information, please contact (714) 961-7192.
We will be working with Santa Claus this holiday season to deliver holiday wish lists! Mailboxes will be on display at City Hall, the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House, the Community Center, the Library, and the Travis Ranch Activity Center. Is your teen looking to give back to the community? Join the Yorba Linda Teen Action Committee in bringing joy to those in need this holiday season. We encourage you to bring a non-perishable non-expired food item or unwrapped gift for a young boy or girl to any of our drop-off locations listed below.
