You are invited to take part in the Parks and Recreation Department's photo contest and share your love for Yorba Linda! Contestants are encouraged to submit photographs showcasing the beauty and character of Yorba Linda through its programs and natural settings by using our online entry form . Do you have a strong desire to share your passion and expertise with others? Ideal contract instructors have the flexibility to teach during a variety of dates and times at our Parks and Recreation facilities and must be certified to teach licensed programs, if required. Class offerings must fit into one of the following target ages ranges and categories: Preschool (0-5 years), Youth and Teens (5-17 years), Adults (18+), and/or Older Adults (55+). The City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department is currently looking for enthusiastic and responsible 7th and 8th grade students to form the 2019-2020 Teen Action Committee (T.A.C.)! Join recreation staff with your tyke for our Fall Mini Sports classes that focus on fine-tuning motor skills, improving athleticism, and promoting sportsmanship! Enjoy the beautiful artwork from the senior painting class on display at the Yorba Linda Community Center on September 11 at 10:00 a.m. Hors D'oeuvres, an opportunity drawing, and entertainment provided by Rob on the Sax will also be featured. Wonder Park (PG) will be the last movie of our Movies in the Park Series and will be shown at Hurless Barton Park on September 21 at dusk. This six-week beginners' volleyball league focuses on the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Participants, ages 8-12, will have the chance to show off their improving skills and work with their teammates during weekly Saturday morning games! Teens are invited to join friends for free pizza and a movie at the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House on September 28 from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Pokemon Detective Pikachu

Recreation Staff is hosting a special Halloween Teen Excursion to Knott's Scary Farm where teens and their friends can brave a variety of haunted mazes and exhibitions at the largest Halloween event in the area. Participants will meet at the Field House and be transported to and from the theme park, and will be chaperoned by Recreation Staff. Reserve your teen's space by registering online ! Be the hero of your health and attend the 2019 Senior Wellness Expo at the Yorba Linda Community Center on Saturday, October 19 at 9:00 a.m. Receive helpful health information from over 60 vendors and participate in vital health screenings and a raffle!
