MJB Realty/Jerry Kolb and staff welcome Union Pacific Caboose, #25009 to Yorba Linda in 1973. The caboose was positioned near the Pacific Electric Depot which housed the MJB Realty office.

Putting the Pieces Together
Items acquired and donated to the Richard Nixon Mini-Museum
Jerry Kolb's Union Pacific Caboose, a Union Pacific maintenance crew, the Los Angeles Grand Central Station antique mail carts, Engine #9-Southwest Airlines, a United States flag from our President, various items from the White House and photos of early Yorba Linda and the Nixon home. Years later some may wonder, "How do they all fit together?"
Thanks to various news articles in The Yorba Linda Star, The Placentia Courier, The Daily News Tribune and The Orange County Register, it is possible to piece the story together.
Doris Lee of the Daily News Tribune wrote an article in her column, The News of Yorba Linda, called "A Caboose Arrives at Home". Lee wrote, "It took four and half hours of considerable tugging and pulling and a lot of sweat, but the caboose is there, sitting on its short length of track at the Yorba Linda MJB Realty office, looking slightly the worse for the long hot trip." Lee went on to say that the caboose would soon be a museum.
Stay tuned as we learn about our
mysterious caboose, mail carts and much more!

How to Remove Skunk Smells-Opinion
From a post on Facebook
________________________________
The best way we’ve found to remove the smell of skunk or dead is:
1 bottle hydrogen peroxide,
1 tablespoon dish soap
1/4 cup baking soda
Sponge
Put first two in bowl, have the stinky one ready in sink and just before you sponge the mixture on add baking soda. Be VERY careful not to get it in nose or eyes. Massage through hair. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing. Use your regular soap, rinse, dry. You literally can let them sleep on your bed after with no issues.

Tonner
Pet ID: A1745375
Sex: N
Age: 1 Year 10 Months
Weight: 64.40 lbs
Color: Sable White
Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Jurisdiction: Santa Ana
Intake Date: 11/30/2021
Intake Jurisdiction: Santa Ana
Kennel: 617
Comments: Tonner was brought to OC Animal Care by a good Samaritan who found him wandering alone in the street. Since getting to know Tonner, we've learned that he loves to play fetch! He would chase the tennis ball all day if you let him, and he is even fairly good at bringing it back! Tonner is an active boy who would make an excellent running, walking, or hiking buddy! Tonner is looking for a family with kids ages 13 and over, where he will be the only pet.
Thank you to those who help provide forever homes for pets!

Yorba Linda Time Lapse
The videos below are listed in order from newest to oldest. Should you choose to watch them you will see that the content, presentation, and duration has grown with time. Along the way much was learned and new techniques employed. As new videos are created, it is my goal to continue this trend.
The availability of old photographs of our city is what makes these videos possible. I have pretty much "borrowed" everything currently on the internet, but will continue the search. Should anyone have old, interesting, family snapshots, home video, or photographs of Yorba Linda (and surrounding areas) and are willing to share them, please contact me at: grandspud@yahoo.com Larry
