Peggy Huang- She's Back!
Residents reference ethics and dishonesty in the process
of filling the Gene Hernandez empty Council seat
Opinion
_______________________
Rumors swirl in reference to a possible uneven playing field, dishonesty and the
intent to choose someone who would not run against two possible
Council Members (Tara Campbell and Beth Haney) in November 2024.
Is there an appearance of impropriety or even a Council decision
in advancewhich would be a Brown Act Violation?
Peggy Huang, "As of now, I have no intention of running."
(in November 2024)

Peggy Huang's Claim
Opinion
It amazes me that our "new" Council Member Peggy Huang began her interview in front of the City Council with a LIE. At 8:33 pm on February 13th she introduced herself as "Well, uh, presently I am the City Attorney, uh, over at, uh, Huntington Beach".
She is NOT the City Attorney for Huntington Beach, which is an elected position. The application form which she submitted to the YL City Council lists her job title in Huntington Beach as "Senior Deputy City Attorney". That position is tied for #5 out of 7 in the pecking order of attorneys who work for the City of Huntington Beach!! (see information below)
For verification, see the third paragraph at this web page. City of Huntington Beach, CA - City Attorney, Michael E. Gates
The applications of all candidates for the empty City Council seat are on the City website (99 pages).

Peggy Huang Again
Is This Fair?
Opinion
Selection process of candidates for Yorba Linda City Council open seat
The candidates who applied for the open Council seat were informed that if anyone was late, they would not be allowed to apply. Peggy Huang was 2 1/2 hours late. She was allowed to speak. Councilman Carlos Rodriguez said he did not know she was late. Was the process fair?

_________________________
Editor's Comment: Residents have contacted me to say that candidates were told that they would be omitted if they were late. Peggy Huang was reportedly 2 1/2 hour late but was allowed to speak. Another candidate was reportedly late due to work and was denied the right to interview.
There have also been comments about the Council choosing someone who would not run in November 2024, potentially against Councilwomen Tara Campbell and Beth Haney.

Peggy Huang Chosen to Fill Vacated Council Seat
Former Councilwoman Peggy Huang was chosen to fill the Council seat recently vacated by Gene Hernandez. The four Councilmembers seemed intent on choosing someone who was NOT planning to run in November. Huang was asked by Councilmembers if she plans to run in November for a Council seat and she replied, "As of now, I have no intention of running." A total of 17 applicants were interviewed.
There are three seats open in November including the two now held by Tara Campbell and Beth Haney. Both are expected to run for re-election. Should Peggy change here mind, she would be running for one of the three open seats.

How to Remove Skunk Smells-Opinion
From a post on Facebook
________________________________
The best way we’ve found to remove the smell of skunk is:
1 bottle hydrogen peroxide,
1 tablespoon dish soap
1/4 cup baking soda
Sponge
Put first two in bowl, have the stinky one ready in sink and just before you sponge the mixture on add baking soda. Be VERY careful not to get it in nose or eyes. Massage through hair. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing. Use your regular soap, rinse, dry. You literally can let them sleep on your bed after with no issues.

Yorba Linda Time Lapse
The videos below are listed in order from newest to oldest. Should you choose to watch them you will see that the content, presentation, and duration has grown with time. Along the way much was learned and new techniques employed. As new videos are created, it is my goal to continue this trend.
The availability of old photographs of our city is what makes these videos possible. I have pretty much "borrowed" everything currently on the internet, but will continue the search. Should anyone have old, interesting, family snapshots, home video, or photographs of Yorba Linda (and surrounding areas) and are willing to share them, please contact me at: grandspud@yahoo.com Larry
