York Academy Families:

Our students are doing amazing things!

Last week, our MYP musicians shared their talents in the first Quadrennial Leap Day Modern Band Concert, and I enjoyed seeing them shine. Here are some pictures.

The Senior Art Exhibition Reception at Marketview Arts was a success! Congrats to the students on their hard work. It was interesting to listen to them share the intention behind their pieces and see how that translated through their works of art.

If you missed the opening, please stop by Marketview Arts through the end of March. Their masterpieces are located on the first and third floors. Many thanks to Mrs. Chester for sharing her knowledge, dedication and support of her students.

I'm proud to share that the York Academy was mentioned in the video below from the Kindness Factor for how our students embraced the spirit of Kindness Week in November. Once again, we do things differently!

Our annual first grade Hat Parade was also a hit. The students walked the halls and showed off their hats to cheers and applause from their peers (K-6). Click here to watch a live video of them in action.

In addition, it was Custodian Appreciation Day on Monday. Our custodians are crucial members of the York Academy family.

They care for our buildings, support the staff, and keep things running smoothly. Their hard work also impacts students by ensuring their learning environments are clean and safe.

Many thanks to every member of our custodial team.

Congratulations to all our basketball teams on an outstanding season. Two of them are in the Championships on Friday night in the Upper School gym. Come cheer them on!

Please share these details with your friends and family members. It’s always exciting to welcome new Knights into our school community.

Enjoy the evening,

Sign Up for Student-Led Conferences

Student-Led Conferences will be held on Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22! This year, we are offering extended evening hours on Thursday to accommodate families’ schedules. Signups are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: Students will only come to school with their parents/guardians during their scheduled conference time. There will be no classes or transportation for students on March 21 and March 22, and students will not come to school. Please make childcare plans now.

Lower School (K-6):

Haven’t signed up yet? Click here and the online system will walk you through the steps. As listed on the online directions, you will need to use your email address to complete the registration process.

Each student MUST attend their scheduled conference with a parent/guardian. If you have any problems signing up, please reach out to your child’s teacher or call the office for assistance at (717) 801-3900.

Upper School (7-12):

All Upper School parents/guardians should sign up for one 30-minute slot through their child’s Canvas account. All the content areas will be reviewed during that time period. More information about signing up for Student-Led Conferences was emailed to parents/guardians separately. Support will also be available for Canvas, Sapphire, the After-Hours Program, and more! If you need assistance, please reach out to Mrs. Alvarnaz or Ms. Jones at (717) 900-5001.

As a reminder, the only time students should come to school on March 21 and 22 is with their parents/guardians for their scheduled Student-Led Conference. School is closed and classes will not be held on those days.

We look forward to seeing you. You will be amazed at all your children have to share!

Come to Our 2024-25 Admissions Info Session Tomorrow

We're accepting applications through March 31 for students entering kindergarten through ninth grade.

Our next Admissions Information Session for the 2024-25 school year is tomorrow (3/7) from 5:30 - 7 p.m. in the Lower School Media Center. Guests will learn about the benefits of a York Academy education, the International Baccalaureate curriculum, and student/parent expectations. Families will also be able to ask questions and take a tour.

If you know of a friend or family member whose child is starting kindergarten or a positive change is needed, please let them know about this session! There is also one next Wednesday. Click here for more information.

York Academy Families: If your child attends our school and you would like their sibling(s) to start in August, you will need to complete applications for them per PA Charter School Law. In addition, the same law dictates that we cannot roll over applications from year to year, so parents on the 2023-24 waiting list must reapply for the 2024-25 school year
