The Lowdown with Dr. Lowe
Good Evening York Academy Families:

Our PTO has been working hard to plan Saturday's Back to School 5K and Fun Run! If you haven't signed up yet, please register now and support our school. All YARCS students may participate for free, and walkers, joggers and runners of all ages are welcome!

Can't come? We could still use your help with donations for the refreshments table. You can find all the details below.

I look forward to seeing you on Saturday. Let's support the PTO and celebrate our YARCS family with some fun and fitness!

Enjoy your evening,
Dr. Michael Lowe

Knight Nod Achiever: Journey Pauley
Congratulations to Journey Pauley, a sixth grader who is our Knight Nod Achiever. She was nominated for embodying the International Baccalaureate Learner Profile attribute of being balanced.
Balancing the intellectual, physical and emotional parts of our lives to achieve well-being for ourselves and others is important. As we work to be balanced, we must also recognize our interdependence with other people and with the world in which we live.
Journey is involved in many different endeavors outside of school, which keep her healthy, active and happy! She brings such a balance to every class. Journey also has an amazingly positive attitude and is so much fun to be around. Her nominee says, "If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Journey, you're missing out!"
Here's a big Knight Nod for sharing your positivity and staying balanced in and out of school, Journey. We're very proud of you!
IMPORTANT: Complete the Student Information Form
Parents...we need your help! It's very important for you to complete the Student Information Form so we have up-to-date information regarding your child(ren).

Please click below and type in all of the requested information. If you have multiple children who attend York Academy, please complete the form separately for each one. The deadline is THIS Friday (9/10). Thank you!
Shop at the Senior Online Apparel Store
Seniors and their parents are invited to shop at the Senior Online Apparel Store! Please note that the only item in the shop that may be worn as part of the school uniform is the Jerzees Snow Heather French Terry Raglan Crew Sweatshirt (pictured). Students are welcome to wear the other items on "dress down days."
Back to School Night
It was wonderful to see so many of you at last week's Back to School Night at the Lower School! We hope you enjoyed meeting your child's teacher and finding out more about the exciting things that are in store. We are thankful that you chose to send your child(ren) to York Academy. Here are a few pictures from the evening.
Upper School Food Drive
It was National Food Bank Day last Friday, and our Upper School students and staff rocked their mini-food drive! They brought in over 250 items to help those in need through the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry. Congrats to students in the House of Chaxun for being awarded the most House Points based on the number of items donated. Special thanks go to (left to right) Piper Clark, Carmi Veiss, Mia Brand, Charlie Nugent, Maya Veiss and Tonya Nace for stepping up in support of the drive. Way to go, Knights!
Notes from the Kitchen
Hello Families,
Our kitchens have been busy, and we've already prepared about 10,000 meals this school year! I hope you are getting great reports back from your students of the wonderful food being served. Please reach out to me if you or your students have any concerns. I want to make sure everyone is enjoying the meals at both the Lower and Upper Schools.
You may have received an email regarding the Free/Reduced/Paid status of your child. I have been busy getting all the applications processed. No matter what the status of your child, every single student (K-12) eats free this school year. This will not change regardless of what the letter states. I am collecting this data so our school has up-to-date information for our Title 1 Program.
Thank you to those of you that sent in or filled out an application on Compass. I am still missing about 350 families. I will be sending an email to remind you to either return the application that was sent home with your child or to complete the online application at
Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns at (717) 900-5001 or I am always trying to improve our program and your feedback makes this possible!

Eat Well and Stay Healthy,
Ms. Gina
Knights International: Dutch Mill Bulbs Fundraiser
In about 280 days our seniors will fly to Spain to live the Spanish lifestyle and put their skills to the test, while embodying the global citizens we have empowered them to be!

For their first fundraiser this school year, they have partnered with Dutch Mill Bulbs, located in Hershey. Both spring and fall bulbs are available. Click below to view the options.

Please make sure to fill in the group/organization field with York Academy Regional Charter School. After payment, your order will be shipped immediately, rather than waiting on the fundraiser deadline.

Thank you in advance for helping our students raise dollars to fund this incredible opportunity to visit Spain!
