York Academy Families:

I encourage you to come celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month at our Saborea tomorrow night (10/10)! It will be held at the Upper School from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Members of our National Spanish Honor Society have an exciting event planned. There will be plenty of homemade food, dancing, dominoes and traditional arts/crafts of Hispanic culture.

As a reminder, school is closed this Friday (10/11) and Monday (10/14).

Lastly, Student Led Conferences are happening on October 24 and October 25. School is closed on those days, and the only time students will come to school is for their conference with you. Please make childcare arrangements now. Click below for all the details and sign up for a timeslot now.

Upper School Students Visit Lower School to Share Story

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, students in Mrs. Fedorko's 10th grade Spanish classes read "Plátanos Are Love" to students in grades K-3. They also had the students draw foods that are important to their family's culture. The Upper School students loved having the opportunity to connect with the younger students and share the story with them!

Join Us: Upper School Cookie Decorating Social

Notes from the Kitchen

Last month, both the Upper School and the Lower School had the treat of enjoying Subway sandwiches for lunch. The excitement among the students was electric! I had the pleasure of serving our Upper School students on their Subway day and managed to snap a few photos of the fun. From what I hear, the Lower School had a similar experience. In fact, Subway was such a hit that it’s already back on the menu this month!

Both schools have been serving record-breaking numbers of breakfasts and lunches, which has been incredibly rewarding. Seeing so many hungry students enjoy the meals we provide brings joy to us all.

A huge thank you to the dedicated staff at both schools for their hard work in preparing such delicious and nutritious meals. Your efforts make a big difference in our students' day!

Eat healthy and be well,

Ms. Gina
