Hello all,
Here's a quick update for your planning purposes for this weekend. On Saturday, April 1st, the Yorktown Victory YMCA will be hosting their 8th annual Victory at Yorktown Races. The races will include USATF-certified 10K & 5K races plus a 1 mile Fun Run. There will be live music, entertainment for the kids and other activities. This is a great event that directly supports the local YMCA. For more information about the event, check out their webpage here.
However, there will need to be some temporary changes in place Saturday morning at the waterfront to accommodate all the events, including some street closures. So I wanted to give everyone a heads-up in case you were planning to be in the area on Saturday so you're not surprised by the detours and closed roads. For details on which streets will be blocked off Saturday morning, please check out this news release.
I'll actually be onsite early Saturday morning helping to park cars. Then they'll probably put me to other use elsewhere later in the morning. So be sure to say hello if you see me down there.
