Chick-fil-A Anyone?

Hello all,

One question that I have received multiple times over the past few months is ”will we be getting a Chick-fil-A in Grafton?” I can certainly understand the interest and see how it could be a nice addition to the Dairy Queen that opened last March. To follow-up on those questions, I have been staying in contact with our Economic Development staff and our Planning staff to keep abreast of the possibility of a new Chick-fil-A coming to our area. But without any sort of commitment from Chick-fil-A, I’ve been unable to share any news one way or the other.

That has now changed. Since I published my previous newsletter last week, Chick-fil-A has submitted a site plan to our Planning department for 5600 George Washington Memorial Highway! The reason I'm

now able to share this news is that a site plan submittal is a major milestone in the process to establish a new business. It reflects a serious intent on behalf of the business owner to develop the property through a significant commitment in finances, resources and effort.  While it doesn’t mean that a new restaurant is a guarantee, receiving a site plan is definitely an encouraging development.

This is good news for those of us interested in seeing a new Chick-fil-A

in Grafton and I'm happy to finally be able to share this update. However, this is just one step in the process of standing up a new business. I don’t yet have any details on the overall timeline or when we can expect a grand opening. In the meantime, we’ll need to think happy thoughts of chicken sandwiches and waffle fries to come.

Best regards,

Stephen
