Seeking Income Qualified Households to Participate in Weatherization Program

York County Weatherization Program 

 

York County Weatherization is seeking income qualified households to participate in our program designed to reduce utility costs for low income families throughout York County. The services are offered free of charge, and includes attic and basement insulation, hot water and pipe insulation, window and door weather stripping, caulking, and furnace repair and replacement.  For additional details and income limitations please refer to the weatherization page, or contact York County Planning Commission, Weatherization Program at (717) 771-9870 for an application.

  

Local Government Academy Offers On-line Training Course on Blight

"Fight Blight Brightly" On-line Course 

 

The Local Government Academy will offer a comprehensive online course organized on the "Blight to Bright" framework: Prevention and remediation first; dealing with abandoned properties as necessary.  The course will run 4 weeks, September 8 - October 3, 2014. County Seeking Proposals for General Legal Services
DEADLINE: September 3, 2014 by 4:00 p.m.

The County of York is seeking proposals for general Legal Services in conjunction with the County's Housing Programs. Proposals should be submitted to Dory Brannon, Chief of Housing, York County Planning Commission, 28 East Market Street, York, PA 17401 by 4:00 pm on September 3rd.

The successful candidate must be familiar with the County's various housing programs as well as State and Federal laws such as HUD CDBG/HOME Regulations. For additional details and requirements please contact dbrannon@ycpc.org

County Seeking Proposals for Title Certification and Real Estate Appraisal Services
DEADLINE: September 3, 2014 by 4:00 p.m.

The County of York is seeking proposals for Title Certification and Real Estate Appraisal Services in conjunction with the County's Housing Programs. Proposals should be submitted to Dory Brannon, Chief of Housing, York County Planning Commission, 28 E. Market Street York, PA 17401 by 4:00 pm on September 3rd.

The successful candidate shall supply title certification in the form of a written summary covering a period of no less than 60 years. Appraisals shall include information regarding property site data, building description, comparable properties, building conditions, as-is value, and as-completed value after rehabilitation.

 

Because the purpose of the County's Housing programs is to provide necessary and sometimes emergency property repairs, title certifications and appraisals must be submitted no later than two weeks following receipt of request. Commuting between York and Lancaster?

Rabbittransit and the Red Rose Transit Authority are working together to plan a better transit connection between York and Lancaster. We need your help to decide when, where, and how the connection should work!

Go to www.BusSurvey.com to fill out a short survey about your commute. The survey is anonymous and will ask you about:

  •  Where you need the bus to go so it's easy to get to work
  •  When you need the bus to run so you can make it to work on time
  •  Your feelings about an express bus service in the future
  •  A possible connection to the Lancaster Amtrak station

The survey will run from July 30 through August 30 and is open to residents in York and Lancaster counties.
