After review of the parking spaces on the York General Hospital and Medical Office Building Campus, Senior Leadership has found it necessary to make changes to designated parking. At times, the North employee parking lot is at or near capacity, therefore we find it necessary without adding the additional expense of creating new parking spaces, by making the following changes:
Surgery and Anesthesia parking only:
To the West of the Hospital at the North End of the parking spots, we have designated 16 spots for Surgery staff and Anesthesia staff to park. These spots were not occupied most of time. We have determined we can occupy them with staff parking. There are still 4 spaces for Outpatient surgical patient/visitor parking. This dedicated space is indicated by signage by the parking spots
To enter the hospital the surgery and anesthesia staff will go through the exterior door on the West side of Outpatient Surgery (OPS) which is on a controller and is unlocked from 0530-1730. The interior vestibule door is controlled with an access control system and staff will need to use their fob or card to gain access. This staff shall use the UKG app on their mobile device or a computer in OPS to clock in/out. If all 16 spaces are already occupied by the surgery and anesthesia staff, then the surgery or anesthesia staff will need to park in the North employee lot and come in through the employee entrance door on the East side of the Building.
Please remember these 16 spots are designated for Anesthesia and Surgery staff parking only.
Medical Office Building Parking lot:
We have designated 12 parking spaces which are located to the very South and West corner of the MOB parking lot. This was previously dedicated to York Surgical Associates. There are now 12 spaces on the far South West end and 1 space for Natural U Esthetics. This dedicated space is indicated by signage by the parking spots.
These spots are for employees working in the Medical Office Building Departments, Business Office, and Therapy. These are on a first come first serve basis only. We also want to minimize the traffic flow through the parking lot, so most likely they will be filled for the staff arriving early in the am. If these are full, then you will need to park in the North employee parking lot. This staff will need to clock in on a computer or via the UKG mobile app on your mobile device upon arrival in their work area, as there will not be a new time clock installed near the main entry of the hospital.
The other spaces to South and West of the MOB are for patient/visitor, YMC staff and Medical Staff. Do not park in these areas unless you are a patient or visitor that day.
General parking notes (no changes, just reminders):
We have reserved 2 spaces for volunteers and 2 for Therapist that are coming/going for Home Health, school or other campus patient visits during the work day. If the spots are filled, then staff need to park in the North parking lot. It is not okay to take patient /visitor spots from our patients or visitors or YMC designated parking.
Staff who have been approved by Human Resources for a Reasonable Accommodation parking spot (and you have a tag designating this) shall park in the reserved spots to the East of the Hospital.
Do not park in the spaces on the East that are designated for the respective vehicles as noted on the signage.
To assist you in understanding the parking plan, an updated parking map and policy will be coming soon. All Directors shall educate new employees on where to park on respective campuses.
