Launched in 2021, the Social Justice Initiative is a pillar of President Cheryl F. Green’s vision for Governors State University to take its place as a regional and national leader in eradication of barriers to education, success, and equity for the Southland community. Led by Dr. Phyllis West, the Social Justice Initiative currently hosts a pro bono legal clinic providing informational resources on rights, policies, and laws affecting justice in Illinois.
