Greetings!
2021 is off to a challenging start. We saw an unprecedented attack on democracy this week and Covid numbers are still on the rise. I think we could all use a little more Jesus in our lives.
In the Gospel of Mark, do you know what happens as we first encounter Jesus? Before Jesus has shown us any miracles or shown visible signs of walking into his prophetic ministry, Jesus is baptized and we hear the voice of God. This voice proclaims that Jesus is loved and that God is pleased with him.
In our own lives, God moves similarly. God loves us, God is pleased with us, God knows us and blesses us in all of who we are. This Sunday, join us for our online church service as we celebrate the Baptism of Jesus and are reminded of the ways God calls us Beloved as well.
I know that this season of our lives is stressful and filled with complications. But 2021 does not have to be as stressful as 2020. I have faith that we will find a way, together, to make this an amazing year!
I sincerely hope you will join us for church on Sunday. If you’ve fallen out of the habit of tuning in at 10:30 on Sundays, perhaps now is the time to start fresh and spend a little time on Sundays with your church family. Don’t forget to pop into the chatbox during service and say hello.
You are loved
Rev. Jakob
