“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
Branches have a very unique role in producing the fruit of the vine. The LORD, in this passage, is not only speaking of our complete dependence on HIM, but HE is also giving us an understanding of the importance of our role in the Kingdom.
You see, a vine cannot produce fruit by itself; it requires branches. The implications of this are profound. GOD created us in such a unique way as to need our participation to fulfill HIS perfect will. Yes, GOD birthed us into a new creation as a vine births branches, and HE completely sustains all of our needs as a vine does for its branches. GOD is also saying that HE created us in such a way as to need us to participate with HIM to fulfill HIS perfect will in releasing HIS divine fruit upon the earth.
In conclusion, you are needed to release GOD’s purposes on the earth. The SPIRIT needs a Body to flow through as a vine needs branches for fruit, and divine LOVE needs sons and daughters to release its nature upon the earth. Let us be the hands and feet of JESUS, and let us allow the nature of GOD to flow through us so the world can experience GOD’s goodness and be drawn to HIM today.
