MESSAGE FROM PASTOR MIKE

Dear Church Family,

As we enter the Fall season, we should pause to thank God for blessing us. Our ministries are flourishing, our worship services are invigorating, each week we’re seeing new families visit, and our pastoral staff has been strengthened with the arrival of Pastors Nick and Blossom Matthews. God is faithful!

I want to remind you of two important events coming up: First, the Family Fun Day on Sunday, October 19 begins at 3pm with a ventriloquist show, followed by a good ole Texas hot dog cookout. Then, on Sunday, November 2 our church celebrates 175 years of ministry in Waco. This historic day will feature one worship service at 10:30, followed by a church family meal served by Men for Missions. We’ll have special guests with us and plenty of historical memories to share.

If you look at the giving reports in this weekly newsletter, you’ll see that we’re behind where we’d like to be at this time of the year. Remember that for disciples of Jesus, giving to the church financially is just as important in our lives as attending worship, reading Scripture, and other Means of Grace. The expectation is 10% of our income, but if giving to the church is new for you, I encourage you to offer God whatever you can.

It’s difficult for me to put into words the honor it is to serve as your senior pastor, and each morning I pray that we’ll be the holy people God calls us to be. I invite you to make this part of your daily prayers, as well.

Deep in Christ's peace,
