Since 2002, HomeAid's annual drive to collect diapers and baby wipes for moms and babies experiencing or at risk of homelessness has delivered over 2.3 million essential items in honor of Mother's Day.

March Into Care Days

On March 5, Lennar, Ashton Woods Homes, Taylor Morrison, Brightwater Homes, HomeTrust Bank, and others volunteered with HomeAid Georgia at Capitol Build Day in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Georgia. Held at Liberty Plaza at the Georgia State Capitol, the event raised awareness for the attainable housing crisis in Georgia. Volunteers framed a Habitat house, which was transported to Atlanta Habitat for Humanity to be used in a future home for a Habitat family (top photos).

On March 21, volunteers from SouthState Bank, Davidson Homes, and IMPACT Development Management joined a HomeAid Care Day at Georgia Works (bottom photo). HomeAid Georgia is assisting with the final phases of construction of 54 units of affordable housing in Georgia Works' historic downtown Atlanta building.

HomeAid will host two more Care Days at Georgia Works on March 28 and March 29.

Who HomeAid Helps

Georgia Works transforms chronically homeless men into self-sufficient and productive members of society. HomeAid is proud to support Georgia Works and program graduates like Mario.

Mario felt hopeless and defeated as he battled homelessness, drugs, and alcohol for two years. Finally coming to Georgia Works for help, Mario had housing, case management, and workforce training. After seven months in the program, he gained full-time employment at a restaurant. “My case manager and all the staff at Georgia Works helped me believe in myself, and I found hope in God,” he said. Today, Mario and his wife (who he met shortly after Georgia Works graduation) have a home together and both work full time.

Westlake Packs CareKits

On March 11-12, volunteers from Westlake Corporation packed HomeAid CareKits at their office. HomeAid CareKits are hygiene kits packed by volunteers and donated to local nonprofits who serve people experiencing homelessness. Since 2014, HomeAid volunteers have packed over 20,000 CareKits!

Atlanta SMC Supports HomeAid

At their March meeting, the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association Sales and Marketing Council presented HomeAid Georgia with a check for $13,500 - proceeds from their December 2024 Silent Auction.
