JWFA Quarterly Newsletter: Winter 2018

We recently received a grantee report with the following participant quote:
This is what Jewish Women's Fund of Atlanta (JWFA) is all about: inspiring women and girls to impact their own communities and collaborate with others to create positive change.
This Fall was very busy for JWFA. Between the launch of our new Coffee & Conversation series , the release of our 2019 Request for Proposals , and our decision to lead our community in the fight against human trafficking , we have been working nonstop to create positive opportunities and facilitate social change for women and girls. We are excited to share these updates with you and invite you to engage with us in the weeks and months ahead as we remain a force for change and gender equality in the Jewish community.
Happy Chanukah,
Debbie Kuniansky (Chair) and Rachel Wasserman (Executive Director)
This Chanukah, be a Bright Light for Others.
Jewish Women's Fund of Atlanta creates a brighter future for women and girls by promoting gender equality in the Jewish community. With your generosity, we can increase our reach and multiply our impact. Your gift, in any amount, is greatly appreciated. Click here to donate now.
JWFA Impact in Action
Part of our mission is to create positive opportunities for Jewish women and girls. By strategically investing in grantee partners who use innovative programming to create impact, Jewish Women's Fund of Atlanta is proud to say that we have created the following new opportunities in the last few months alone.
  • JumpSpark has engaged 30 local Jewish teenage girls (representing 13 high schools and 9 synagogues!) in the Strong Women Fellowship, where they will spend the year developing themselves as strong leaders.
  • JobKatif has enabled low-income Ethiopian immigrants in Israel to become nurses, thereby becoming economically self-sufficient and changing the way Israeli society views this population.
  • Atlanta Jewish Academy has scheduled a Girls in STEM Career Fair and Mentoring Program for early 2019. This project will be the first of its kind in Atlanta.
These are only 3 examples of the thousands of Jewish women and girls being impacted by our work every day. Be sure to follow our grantees' progress and celebrate their success on our Facebook page. Like and follow @JWFAtlanta.
Traffick Proof Our Jewish Community
DID YOU KNOW? Currently, 12,400 men in Georgia purchase sex from a minor every month. In Israel, thousands of women are trafficked every day. Every human being has the right to make her own decision about her body, life, and future. No one should be forced to work or engage in a sex act against her will. As Jews, it is our duty to eliminate this modern-day slavery, and Jewish Women's Fund of Atlanta wants to make that happen. Join us on March 28, 2019 as we address this crisis with experts in the field locally, nationally, and in Israel. Learn more on our website and Facebook event page . Sponsorships are available.
Please remember Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta in your will, trust, retirement account, or life insurance policy.
