Expansion International’s annual Student Leadership Conference is a beacon of inspiration, uniting all of the students in our sponsorship program for a weekend of spiritual growth and mentorship. This year's conference was a great success with 150 students in attendance coming from the various communities we partner with across Kenya.
Embracing the theme “No Longer a Slave to Fear, I am a Child of God,” inspired by Romans 8:15, the conference explored vital topics for teens in Kenya. Mental health, academic excellence, the impacts of social media, substance abuse, and self-identity were at the forefront of sessions covered throughout the weekend. Each day was highlighted with a devotional and prayer, nurturing students’ spiritual bonds.
To conclude the conference, students worked with Expansion International Africa staff to set personal annual goals to ensure their paths align with their future aspirations. Additionally, students showcased their talents, shared their gifts, and offered powerful testimonies, culminating in well-deserved certificates of completion.
