Greetings!
Tomorrow, you will be celebrating Thanksgiving and we are so excited to bring you a story full of gratitude as a part of our 6-week storytelling series, Story-A-Week.
Did you miss last week?
As your friends and family members gather together to share what they are grateful for, our hope is that you will share Allan's story too.
He is grateful for YOU.
"4 years ago, my only way to get to school was to crawl on the unpaved stone ground..."
Like the other 2.2 million children in Uganda orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic, Allan's life was difficult before Nyaka. It was filled with little hope or opportunity. Unfortunately, his situation was even direr because of a disorder that left his arms and legs immobile as a young child.

You changed his life and the lives of all of our students the day you invested in The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project. Thank you!
"...because of your love, you helped find the doctors at University of Michigan to work on my legs and my arms."
Allan no longer crawls on the ground! You have lifted him up.
Earlier this spring, Allan's wheelchair was damaged. Again, his ability to attend school was challenged. Following your example, Allan's classmates lifted him on to a bike and pushed him to and from school every single day.
You are inspiring heroes.
"Your support has changed my life. Thank you."
On December 7th, Allen will graduate with 62 other students, including the first ever from Kutamba Primary School.
You have changed their futures. We know that you will keep lifting your children up because you believe in the determined, compassionate and brilliant children of Nyaka and the grannies that stand behind them.
Thank you for your unending compassion.
With gratitude,
Kelly Voss
Director of Development
